Release date ? (BBY Xoom page active as of 2/20)

My Tax return, part of a paycheck, piggy bank money, rainy day fund, I busted out a few teeth, sold lemonade, and even stole the copper out of a neighbors house!!!!! I am so ready for this it isn't even funny, unless that $1200 price tag is still attached on launch day, then I will use that money on shrooms and acid and imagine/halucinate that I'm using a brand new Xoom!!! :D

Well my friend, you can save your money for the Xoom cus Mr. Jha over at Motorola has made it official that Verizon is getting it for $799 unsubsidized so I HIGHLY doubt Best Buy would kick us all in the junk and price it at $1200! All we need is a date and we can breath a sigh of relief!!!
 
So we got our price... Now who is going to link us up an with official release date here in this thread hmmm? The gauntlet has been thrown, and the challenge set! 100 inter web points at stake for the 1st real link to official date of the Xoom!

My guess is that the silver is the casing for the WiFi only version and the all black will be the 3G/4G + WiFi version. That's just my honest guess.

Nope.

In the first video of the silver-backed Xoom, that Xoom was Verizon-branded.

I believe the silver-back is just for preproduction models (hence why it says Not for Resale on it), whereas the all black is the retail model.
 
Still waiting patiently for my e-mail alerts from Xoom and Verizon which I so diligently signed up for. Comforting to know they are on the cutting edge of data dissemination.

You guys didn't honestly think you would get information there before here, right? Last time I signed up for one of those stupid e-mail notification things with Verizon, I got the e-mail saying the product was available, and I had mine for 3 days already.

@ ckeegan, i have a feeling that is exactly what is going to happen. i just called the BB near me in NJ and they never heard of pre-ordering the xoom and i spoke to 2 different people. hopefully they are just keeping the info quiet until tomorrow :confused:
 
i wont be able to stop at BBY until after the job so i will let some of you be the guinea pigs and post up your success/failures.. :D

Well judging from this quote and other information we have heard from other sources, I would say we will be able to pre-order them tomorrow. I just find it odd we have not heard anything from BB or VZW or Moto yet
 
we haven't heard from Aookay so i wonder if he is still hearing the same thing. i hope it is available for pre-order tomorrow but i still find it odd that 2 new devices would be launching the same day. even though one is a tab and the other a phone i can't see HTC & Moto being happy about that.
 
Just spoke to BestBuy mobile at my local mall. Guy looked it up in computer and told me it was moved back to the 20th. I hope he was wrong or that the release was moved up to the 20th. Either way, he said I cannot pre-order tomorrow.

UPDATE: Just talked to second store and they said pre-sale has been pushed to the 20th and he couldn't tell me the release date, because it is still subject to change.
