Release date

The Samsung Mobile US twitter poster is now saying Epic is due to be released in a few weeks, which would seem to indicate that timeframe. I sent that account a direct message to try to find out if it's indeed 8/20 or around then. I'll let you all know if I get a response.

Can you link that twitter response?

Not sure how you link to the tweet:

@AerrowSkyKnight if you are with ATT or TMO go over to a local store to check out. Sprint and VZN are coming in a few weeks. #GalaxyS

I still haven't gotten a response to the direct message I sent. I recommend everyone message or direct message to see if you can get a response. I'm wondering if either they didn't see the message I sent, or don't want to respond because that is the timeframe for release and they don't want to give it away for some reason.

This is the message I sent:

Hi, I noticed the Epic has a TV show scheduled for 8/20. Based on the other 2 releases corresponding with their show dates, is it due then?

Maybe the date has to come from SPRINT?

I believe they work together to agree on a release date. I doubt Samsung would leave their product release date to any carrier with out input. They want to make $$ and they can't do that with their product sitting on the shelf collecting dust while Sprint is sitting on their collective hands.

Pablo, did you inquire about the 8/20 date for the Epic webcast when you emailed them? As somebody mentioned the TV dates for the other 2 were the same as the release date for the phones.

They still haven't responded to my direct message although they've been updating twitter statuses. If I haven't heard anything by tomorrow I'm going to public message them.

No i didn't. I just straight up asked them when the phone was gonna drop. Ill try again though and report back if they reply.

Sounds good. I want to keep badgering them about that 8/20 date until they at least respond with something.

As I said earlier, I have a feeling that that may indeed be the date, but they might not want people to know yet for some reason.

question, Where did this date originate from again? I think I missed that part...

Links?

I just @mentioned SamsungMobileUS in a twitter post. We'll see if they ignore me again. Any thoughts on why they wouldn't respond? They seem to be responding to everyone else who isn't asking them specifically about the 8/20 date.

Has anyone else tried to message or direct message them about that date?

I've been using a crappy flip phone since last week after returning my evo in waiting for this phone. I'm going crazy. I really hope the 20th is not the date and it is in fact earlier than that.

Nice find! Damn that means almost a whole month of waiting!!! WHY SAMSUNG WHY!

hopefully it to get the phone right. I hope Samsung/Sprint is doing their due diligence on this phone before they release it. If it comes out relatively bug free (there will be some of course) then I have no problem waiting. On the other hand if this thing fails and we have to wait this long I will be done for good with Samsung and possibly Sprint.

Yes bug free and if the Epic 4G is shortage free that is always good.
