I contacted a few places and asked them about the phone, and I really hope they are wrong.
Best Buy - Release date unknown
Local "authorized dealer" -- 4G phones and service will not be released till June.
Local official store -- 4G phones and service will not be released till June.

Considering that at&t is launching their LTE network mid-2001, I have a feeling that they're talking about LTE 4G phones.
It seems odd to me that they would have a virtually finished product at CES, an add on TV, an add in a magazine, and "coming soon" on their website only to release it 6 months from now.

Then why would they be advertising 4G now in limited areas? This was an actual AT&T commercial if that was the case they wouldn't be showing adds for it on TV.

LOL. The LTE phones will be announced by then. No way these phones won't be out in the next few weeks. The Infuse might come a little later, but not 5 months from now.

All I know is when I asked each one about an estimated release date for the Motorola Atrix, they stated that the 4g phones will not be released before the official release of the 4g services in June. Like I said, I really hope that they are wrong.

Exactly what I said in another thread he posted in. Putting out commercials during a playoff football game for a phone to be released in June doesn't add up
its coming soon Im saying according BB were looking at Feb 5 Atrix March 1 HTC inspire

All things considered, you would that they would proved a better, more believable date. I know that the sales reps don't have an official date, but you would think that their systems would give them better information. Considering that they stated Q1, that they would provided a date in that time frame.
Then again I have the captivate and they cannot even give a stable estimated date for Froyo.

Sales reps aren't informed of anything any sooner than the general public. It's always been that way.
As a long time cell phone freak and a Super Moderator at Howard Forums, I am often MUCH more informed than anyone who works at a cell phone store OR the call center reps.

The manager at my local authorized retailer (an old grade school friend of mine) told me yesterday that AT&T hasn't announced anything internally yet, but that he was informed "by the end of March" for the Atrix and the HTC Inspire, "someone later" for the Samsung whatever (coming from a Samsung, I an NOT interested in that one at all) and those were sent out the day of announcement at CES. He said he will email me when he finds out anything (he wants the Inspire), but that this whole thing looks like the Craptivate launch last summer- which points to about a month after announcement. I'm thinking mid-february for it...
