Release Date?

ok i spoke to my buddy who is a manager at the corp att store in northridge ca..he told me he HEARD the atrix will be released on feb 13th..so who knows..i hope he heard wrong and its sooner!
 
if its mid february im all for it!

lost my iphone 4 so im just lingering around for something special to come by otherwise i'm terminating and heading to Verizon for either the thunderbolt or bionic.
 
I'll be moving from Big Red, over to AT&T when the Matrix is available for purchase - There is a lot to like about the Matrix, including the 4" screen size plus I'll have better service in my area then Vzn (company BB is on AT&T) can't wait!

EDIT: sorry, this was posted elsewhere already.

Hey I just noticed last night that Adobe Flash updated on my Nex1 and they mentioned the Atrix in the release notes (along with a a couple other tegra 2 devices) and they said an update for those devices would be available soon.

Thats my point, they won't be getting the Atrix, rmreid said he was moving to Big Red when the Atrix was available for purchase. He is either talking about the Bionic or he is going to be waiting a long time

Many of you have probably already seen this, but the post below has a video where an NVIDIA staff member states that the new Tegra devices will be out in a matter of weeks...as in this month!!! Not March as some have tried to say.

Dude, I'm not trying to be a negative nancy (because I agree with your optimism) but March is like 6 weeks away (measured in weeks), so I don't read too much into his comment. Six weeks is a fairly short time in terms of development, although it is agony for us that atte waiting...
Don't get me wrong, I hope it is soon (and think it will be), I am just pointing out that "weeks" can just as easily mean March as in two weeks...

So I went back and listened to the NVIDIA guy giving the demonstration and this is what he says about the game being shown:

"These (speaking of the games for the Atrix) will be available in Tegra Zone probably this month when we get phones out". Does that sound like March? I see this launching early February at the latest.

March is closer to seven than six weeks away...and seven weeks is sounding more like months than weeks. There were several comments at CES from folks at NVIDIA, Motorola and AT&T that all pointed to a release toward the end of January.

Again - they are already running TV advertisements for the phone, AT&T has their website up and running showing the full specs of the phone - why would they do that now if the phone was still nearly two months away? This will be out within the next several weeks.

Watch the video and listen to what the guy says.

I get all of the hype AT&T and Moto are pumping into it, and I also hope that it launches in early Feb. But at events like CES saying "weeks" instead of "month(s)" could simply be a marketing trick to make it sound tantalizingly close without locking your company into a demand that they can't meet. "Weeks" is the safest phrase for the reps to use...

Also, while a decent marker, advertisements can safely be ran months in advance to build hype. In fact, it worries me slightly that the Atrix ad is seperate from the AT&T ad, although I think the Captivate's one was similarly framed...

Again, I am not saying I am doubting the early feb date, just that we should try to base evidence for such off of more than loose wording open to interpretations.

Did you go back and listen to the video? See my updated poste above. He says "this month".
