Fair enough. But even the Bing thing doesn't stop me from liking LG phones. :) ...

Have you ever owned a Bing phone? Or perhaps a Fascinate?

Believe it or not, BING is likely the largest factor in Verizon's continual delay of releasing 2.2 officially to the Fascinate. Normally I would take your more level headed approach: "It's just a search engine. If you hate it, just get rid of it." But when money from Bing is delaying legit updates necessary for purchased docks to work on your Fascinate, and a much better experience overall with your Galaxy S device, Berizon's "partnership" starts to get on your nerves a little more.

Will see how Revolution plays out in display, speed, signal reception, battery.

Ditto. Bing sucks, but can be subdued and is not the resource hog as some may think.

The extra features are significant.

This device will not be heard from until a few weeks after the Incredible "1.5" and Charge release.

Besides the Rev, most are "meh" to me.

If the Charge does indeed include LAST YEAR'S single core hummingbird and PowerGPU combo, then it will certainly be less interesting than the Revolution. It's uglier, as well. But it will likely have better photo and video capabilities, as samsung truly excels in that arena. The LG will probably be fine, just not as good. But it's a dang sexy phone with the best single core processor you can get right now.

And I would refer to the Inc 2 as barely 1.2 or 1.3. I don't even think it's quite 1.5. A big disappointment considering how old the original D'Inc was, and how good it was when it was released. It was impressive, class leading in a lot of ways, and with a killer form factor and grippy back. They really brought a lot of phone to the hands of Berizon customers back then compared to everything else out at the time. Now they're releasing a D'Inc that's merely a smaller thunderbolt, pretty much? Hmm ... Not a good sequel for something that was so impressive and well received. I mean it is supposed to have a couple of goodies like a Xenon flash and an 8 MP camera, likely the same much improved camera found in the Thunderbolt, but other than that it's very "meh" for 2011.

AT&T gets the Atrix and Berizon get's another 1GHz single core phone? Hehehehe. Berizon is so lame this year.

Unless LG changes the spec, the LG should have better video, since is supposed to have a dedicated video chip and drivers to assist video and the hdmi out.

I will probably get the Revolution, since I like Netflix and already have a dual core tablet to cover some special gaming wants. The 16gb internal and IPS display is nice too. IF this device pans out, it would be a FAR better buy than the Thunderbolt. Again, IF specs and performance pans out..........

I think what he meant is better video camera recording in Samsung, not video streaming or playing back. I agree to him that Samsung has slight edge on that over LG. LG should be close to HTC at least or better in camera performance. Netflix streaming with dedicated video chip is nice feature in addition to VoLTE in Revolution.
Revolution is basically high end single core phone with all the advanced communication features (video streaming, VoLTE, data LTE) and HDMI out/mirror which is makes it very strong competitor to Tbolt. Droid Charge has edge on screen with its SAMOLED+ that will be on SGSII as well.

These two device are high on my watch list now, and it will be interesting how they compare in battery as both Samsung, LG are strong in that department. The reliability of 4G LTE reception in both device is also something to watch as Tbolt had some issues there too.

I really think the LG will be the best of the bunch until late in the year. Not that this is good news, since VZW's premium device offerings are a distant fourth to the competition, IMO.

I stick by my view of their "mid level device for premium price" strategy. Look at the TB, it has problems with battery, 4G and 4gb crippled, yet folks lap it up. Factor in a very overt effort to squash rooting (at least for all but the more daring) and it seems a lot of VZW customers are in, "Thank you sir, may I have another" mode.

Seriously, the Charge has an almost 18 month old chipset in it, and this does not seem to bother folks. Sad thing is it is STILL faster than the 8655 in the TB and LG, which goes to show the weakness of the offerings.

Again, if they did not charge premium prices and force two year contract down people's throats, it would not be so bad. No offense to anyone, but it seems VZW is doing a lot of lipstickin' on a pig to me.

Oh, it bothers me, all right. I am really pissed of at Berizon of late.

Well, single core Hummingbird is still competitive in graphics, gaming. PowerVR SGX540 is still very decent GPU, faster than Adreno 205 in Snapdragon 8655 and even dual core TI OMAP4 has it just at faster clock speed. Snapdragon 8655 in Tbolt, Revolution does better productivity scores though. Also it's very likely that Droid Charge is clocked a little higher like 1.2Ghz as Infuse on AT&T along with some improvements with smaller semi-conductor manufacturing process, similar to what 2nd gen snapdragon has over 1st gen snapdragon.

If that's the case then it will be back on my list again. Some performance improvement would make it more acceptable. Still, I am completely perplexed at their decision to ship it with so little RAM. I would consider the 2GB on the Fascinate a bare minimum as apps are getting more and more graphical, feature filled, and complex.

I would honestly be surprised if you can actually buy an SGS2 device in September from Berizon. I will be even more surprised if Berizon doesn't do something to it to ruin it somehow (or force samsung to do so), such as getting rid of video output, cutting down its RAM to 1GB, making it super thick (which we've heard so far they're not going to have to do), etc.

That's why I'm still willing to consider a Revolution or Stealth (It will take me a while to call it a stupid Charge. Stealth is a much better name ... )

Yeah, I like the name Stealth better than Charge too. And I guess you meant to say internal ROM when you talk about RAM in Fascinate and Charge. The initial leaked spec said it's 1Gb in Charge, and recently some sources claimed it's the same 2Gb as in Fascinate. It's not official yet, but we will know soon at its launch. Still 2Gb is a bit small though.

I think Charge is just stop gap for Samsung until they bring out SGSII to Berizon.:) Now the benchmarks on production version of international SGSII are surfing on media, and it's insanely fast. Looks like this phone is going to be super-charged multimedia power house.

Rev though has 16gb internal, dedicated video chip and Netflix. Not to mention a little better chance for updates to firmware.

Yep. Tough choice. I might be able to simply wait it out with my fairly well-functioning Fascinate until the SGS2 comes out. Even the GPS is working exceedingly well for me of late. I just wish I had something with video output for the road that was easy and portable. I'd love my phone to do this, but the new Acer Iconia or Eee Pad Transformer from Asus might end up filling that void. Especially if my laptop battery dies prematurely.

I bought the Acer A500 this morning:

1. Great build
2. Better display than Xoom and seems on par with iPad2 (I compared them all at BB)
3. Dolby makes a big difference for speaker output- very good
4. Faster than my modded gTablet
5. Works great out of box with no modding.
6. Microsd works fine
7. 64gb Thumbdrive works fine too

I picked this over the Asus, since did not want to buy a $150 attachment to get USB host function. I save $100 with the Acer, but can see if folks want a keyboard why they would pick the Asus.

Thing for me is the Acer has full USB port with host and a micro usb built into the tablet. No needing another attachment.

I would want the keyboard for taking client notes and the 16 hour combined battery life. I agree that I would still like to have USB in the tablet. A close friend of mine compared the Acer and Eee Pad side by side and said even though the Acer is not IPS, it's very comparable and quite good - and he's pretty picky about displays.

Honeycomb tablets will work with any bluetooth keyboard/mouse for data input, right? If that's the case, the Iconia will work with a simple and inexpensive bluetooth keyboard. The apple keyboard, for example, is remarkably slender, and would be a great full size keyboard companion on the go for my note-taking, and I wouldn't ever need anything else.

Let me know what else you think of Acer. I believe they're releasing a windows version of it too. You can PM if you don't want to clutter up the thread.

Sorry about that btw, folks. :o

Well the Rev. is do next week. I am guessing a 2 - 3 weeks delay by Verizon.

I'm betting May 26th release day.

Really? Where did you see that? It's good news if true.

One of those leaked release sheets said May 5th, I figure they were off by several weeks on the others. The phone is also on verizon's website catalog listed as coming soon.

VZW - Your Guide

The guide is only a few days out of date. (incrd2 is no longer coming soon)

Hey, good find. That's a good sign that we're actually pretty close. A may release on the Revolution wouldn't be as surprising now. Although the Charge is also apparently going to be a May release now...

I thought the Charge has been out since last week? Best Buy has the demo and the pricing tags (no "Coming soon"). Noticed last week, but I have zero interest in the device. I held the Charge, but the old chipset, no internal space and price is nuts.

Agreed. The price is insane. 300 on contract for a single core phone that is no faster than any other phone that cost 50 less. I for one just don't like the look of the charge. I find it exceptionally ugly, it in an odd way reminded me of a blackberry.

To be honest, I would have bought an Incredible 2 if it had LTE. I played with it in store for a while and it was exceptionally smooth and just a nice phone. LTE is going online in October in my area so a LTE phone is the better choice.

If the Rev comes out and sucks... Tbolt... Pray for the REV to be a good solid phone.
