Is the December 8 release a set date yet? I want to buy a tablet by the 10th so this has me rethinking my choices big time. I know with the phones I have seen them go months off of the release dates.

Well, if you're going for the Prime as the tablet you're going to buy, I would recommend preordering now;)
 
I just preordered my on Newegg. When you search for tf201 the only prime model they're offering (32GB Grey) shows up with a release date of 12/8.

I hope your right! I ordered mine Thursday from BestBuy and am already getting impatient! I am also waiting for the Nexus so it seems like all I do is wait...and wait...and wait. :cool:
 
12/8ish also jibes with Gamestop

But oddly Amazon says "will arrive after December 25, 2011" - which means not possible if released and shipped by some on the 8th. Either the others lie, Amazon lags, or...
 
Amazon says this for me:

"Delivery estimate: We need a little more time to provide you with a good estimate. We'll notify you via e-mail as soon as we have an estimated delivery date. You can cancel at any time."

Looks like they're allowing themselves to update us when they have a good idea of how many they're getting.
 
I wounder how the divy them up to the stores.... I would think amazon would get the most... 350 000 total this year from asus
 
The problem with this confirmation is that if you follow the sources at the end of sources they state that there is no confirmation.

19th for online and a week later in stores.

so if your gonna go into a shop and pick one up, boxing day i guess?

would make sense.
 
Talk about a moving target! This freaking date refuses to get set! LOL

I did preorder it with Amazon, so I'm hoping for one of the earlier dates!
