Release date

I think waiting this long to release this phone is ridiculous. No way in heck is the galaxy 3 getting released anytime soon. I think I'm gonna go a different phone route too

I don't think it's happening. My local AT&T store didn't even know this existed and I just chatted online with AT&T sales rep and he had no release date information. Does anyone have any different news?

I suspect they pushed this out even further to give more limelight to Lumia 900. For some reason, they are really pushing the Lumia 900 phone.

Osho

I think you are probably right. They could at least give us a release date. I'm not a phone snob but I really was looking forward to this phone.

Is the Samsung galaxy s2 skyrocket really that different? Please don't flame me! My phone barely works and I need something soon. This one will probably be weeks from being released.

The only difference between the Skyrocket and the Skyrocket HD is the screen. It will be a 1280 X 720 Super AMOLED (most likely PenTile) 4.65in screen. This screen is most likely the same as the one for the Galaxy Nexus. Other than that the phones are identical. But they have been very secretive and they have not released any specific data so there may be other changes.

I hope at least when AT&T gets it out that it has ICS. But that's probably wishful thinking...

A different forum has information that it will be released by the end of this month. My local stores still say they have no idea. What do you guys think?

I'm assuming better? I don't know though honestly. Im holding out because it's suppose to have a better screen. AT&T has the skyrocket refurb right now for 20 bucks. I'm considering just getting it and forgetting this. I'm starting to think the HD doesn't exist. I know it does but I don't know if it will ever see the light of day.

I would not buy that. A refurb phone only has 90-day warranty compared to 1-year on new phones. You are still tied for 2-year contract. SR can be had for not much more than that NEW. Consider how much you will have to pay for the voice+data sevice in 2 years, the cost difference between the refurb and new phones is minimal.

I personally won't buy a Samsung phone on a 90-day only warranty because often times than not, you will need that warranty.

I know they love to flood the market with new products, but Samsung already has their Galaxy S II, Skyrocket (for AT&T), Nexus (for Verizon), and Galaxy Note in production. Don't forget about the "game-changing" Galaxy S III that's on its way. The Spring season is typically the dead time between phone generations, when they finalize their next gen ideas and we sit and wait for what's to come. There are so many variants of the Galaxy S II generation already available (especially for AT&T) that they could well be done and moving on.

My opinion is that the SR HD is either days away or not happening at all. And days away seems unlikely given everyone working for AT&T has no idea when or if this phone is hitting their store.

I work for AT&T and they sent out a notice saying Skyrocket HD information is no longer available thinking they may have canceled it.
