Root [RELEASE] Live Wallpapers for 2.0.1

I got them working.. ended up going through rootexplorer and deleting the old files on the phone, then did an adb push of the replacements. Thought I really screwed it up as I couldn't remount as r/o, so I said screw it and just rebooted and everything worked fine.

I've had the r/o remount problem a couple times(with the mount command AND sysro), not sure what's up with that. Never had a problem after rebooting though.

I am running sholes2.0.6 with live wallpapers installed over it. I am able to see the wallpapers but the touch enabled ones don't do anything when they are touched(ex.Nexus). Is there something i am missing, or need to do differently to get them to work properly? And is there a way to get them to work on home++?

You need a 2.1 launcher. You can get it here:
AllDroid - View topic - [release]Launcher2 Ported to 2.0.1, v1.1b *UPD 2/08/10*
For whatever reason, though, the galaxy wallpaper responds to the double tap, but no other wallpapers do. :o

Only the stock live wallpapers appear to need a different launcher, All the ones with interaction I downloaded through market seemed to work fine with the 2.0.1 launcher. I wouldn't suggest getting the 2.1 though as it generally causes a lot of lag. GDE will work, and it is pretty fluid, also dxtop should do it. There may be a few others but I'm not exactly sure which ones.

You're right, I forgot the other ones on the market worked fine, though I think most are pretty lame and/or unattractive. I've yet to install the 2.1 launcher because I have read over there how unstable and buggy it is.
And FWIW, I don't think I'm experiencing any battery hogging or performance lag from using the galaxy wallpaper. :)

There are a couple decent ones on the market.. I really like the planet one. You can select a couple different views of earth, and 1 view of all the others in the system. You even get a few planets from star wars if you're a real geek.

Starfield and Cyclo are decent as well. Personally I stick with either Magic Smoke of the Nexus one. Smoke doesn't have any interaction to it though.

On the plus side, live wallpapers do interact with the 2.01 desktop when you switch screens.

ok, so Two things

1. when i installed with the auto it didn't work, so i manually did it. now they work but the phone reboots and locks up every now and then.. any ideas i am running the newwest smoked glass rom

2. i can't find any of these on the market for some reason. what search terms am i needed.

Got it installed over Sholes 2.0.5 rom, but when trying to set any live paper I just get a FC every time. Have tried using 2.0.1 launcher and 2.1 launcher. Just get FC's. Anybody else have this problem?

Installed over 2.0.6 via DMupdater with FCs anytime I try to apply a wallpaper. Couple others with similar issues.

I'm currently using the Earth Rotation one, that is great. I love that it gives you the current weather formations and shows which side of the world is in night.

how did you find it in the market. i have serached for all of these and can't find them.

just updated the droid with dmupdater to 2.06 then went and installed the live walls ... wow now this is smoking. i love the earth rotation with the real time clouds. very cool. now to get my brother to update his to this.

Wallpapers are still running well with Sholes 2.0.6 - I do get a "wait - forced close" when rebooting the phone but if I choose "wait" and all is well. One trick is two wait a minute or 2 after a boot before going to my home screen to allow everything to settle in. I am not using the 2.1 home or any home replacements. For now I can live without the wallpaper interaction.

Finally got it figured out. Got them installed via adb. They mostly work well. But, the phone definitely doesn't like using the 3D app drawer at the same time there's an interactive wallpaper running. Have had 4 reboots already when I've had an interactive paper running and hit the App tray button. Phone freezes, then reboots.

agreed i had to use the 2.0.1 home to make it work.

also if no one is finding the apps look in my thread about fininding the wallpapers in this forum you need to update a file to make your market think you are running 2.1

Running DroidMod 1.0 at 1mhz with LWP. Everything is very fast! I have noticed about 3-5% less battery over Sholes 2.0.5 at 800khz no LWP.

Using DXTop as well.

I am having issues trying to push these using adb shell. It tells me that it cannot copy the files over. It's telling me that they're read only.

I can do these (and would rather) using root explorer to delete and copy the files. Do I simply replace the files in /system with the ones I downloaded?

Thanks?

DroidMod 1.0 has been the most stable for me too. I am able to use all of the stock live wallpapers (well, I guess it wasn't really ment to be stock for a Droid :)) and the live wallpapers I've downloaded also have not given me a problem. The have udated the Globe wallpaper on the market today and that is running better than ever (uninstall the old, delete the directory on your SD card, reinstal). I still get the occasional temperature spike (today up to 120 degrees for just a few minutes) but it has settled down and I do not see any big hit on my battery life.

I also tried the automatic way. It loaded fine....then no live wallpapers.
