Root [RELEASE]One Click Tool for Revo/Spectrum/Lucid

here is a screen for you its below as for bricking the device thats always a risk with any device its a risk when you flash ne rom hell its a risk if u ota and as for support im right here i will help you if something goes wrong i apologize for my wording in the OP but i will help and as for testers i have had a few ppl test one person said it works great others say it didnt work at all but development takes time im tryin to be a better dev and hopefully move to roms and exploits im just not that savvy yet the rooter works except on LG Revo V9 there was a problem since cwm dont wanna boot after i renamed the install-recovery.p file on it or what ever it is im about to make that change in the source code and commit it to github

It looks nice. Very professional looking program. I may test it later to let you know weather it works on the spectrum or not.

Has this been tested on a Spectrum yet? Maybe someone with more knowledge than myself can comment on whether the programs/files are compatible from the Revo to the Spec?

why a exe when a simple batch or shell script works just fine? Not to mention users can look and see what the scripts do and can learn something from them??

I sent the link to IMUcarmen no response yet ik the root method works on the spectrum and the lucid since its from the esteem and lg has yet to patch this security hole so if you would like the link i can email it to u

Well because i like the fancy stuff if you look at my screen it shows whats goin on for the most part if u really wanna learn whats goin on the program then i suggest you take a look at the source code as i posted it since ppl were wondering what steps i had taken on this program

I downloaded it but havent tested it yet. I've been very busy with working. When i have time and feel up to possibly having to fix my phone if it loops or bricks then I'll test it out.

Matter of fact I just got finished working a 14hour day.

When i first released it on XDA it wasnt tested since i just traded my lucid for a Galaxy S 2 but i went to work and grabbed a revo on V7 software and tested it fully on that i used the current one clicks as guide and just made i nice gui for them instead of plain old batch file now i have the source code up on git hub if you would like to take a look its written in VB usingt the androidlib dll by regawod the root method used is the esteem root and it works on all versions of software i was the one who posted the non downgrade root for the revo as i figured out it worked and asked djrobinson if i could post it on xda

Hate to break it to you, but the root exploit you are using will not work on the Spectrum. We do not have the directory you are trying to exploit and a manual test of what you are using produced a "file not found". And yes, I tried this when I fixed my phone tonight after flashing a .cab.
/data/bootlogo/bootlogopid

DoH!

@ OP, that's what happens when you don't test on the device you claim the program works on. The Revo exploit is not the Spectrum exploit, so it would be foolish to assume one works on another when root methods generally are as numerous as there are phones (except Motos... those are generally all similar in software, but different in hardware, so exploits tend to work on numerous models).

well lets see the exploit used works on the Revo, Esteem and Lucid and so what it dont work on the spectrum i can just use the current exploit and update the program its not a big deal to me just an if then statement since it reads the device info anyways i was making to to make life easier so ya i will just take the current exploit and put it in to my rooter and rerelease and update the source then you can test it again if you would like to thanks for the feedback i did have the device to test with i kno it works Revo and Lucid as i test the exploit itself on both its a shame it dont work on the spectrum

The point is: you should probably see what exploit people are using for the device before you release a rooting application you claim works on that device.
My guess is the Revo, Esteem and Lucid all came out with the same OS, so the method works, but the Spectrum is the Revo2, so that method was patched.

Holy run-on sentence batman.

Trying to download the one click link that roots your phone and install cwm. The links seem to all be broken and all that is left is to manually install cwm through sdk and that is very time consuming and difficult. I dont know how to access the adb etc. I have rooted my phone but is having trouble getting cwm. You would think a youtube video or a tutorial on this would have been made but Can anyone help.

Ok guys i have updated this root tool with rooting for the spectrum, and it should do it properly. If someone is willing i have uploaded the code to github look it over. If you would like to try it for me i would be appreciative since at this point and time i dont have a spectrum. The one i had brought to me is a hard brick since some one flashed it and didnt know that they were doing. They messed up the secondary bootloader and i could not get it into emode at all.

can the OP have his posts removed or something yet? I'm not comfortable seeing untested stuff and then posting about the wrong device repeatedly....

im here asking for help testing this im gonna be releasing a full adb fastboot and recovery console so im looking for feedback on my program if you dont wanna test it thats fine i have done my best to have ppl test it i even edited the code so that the spectrum actually roots properly i cant believe i have such a rude welcome to this community and dont worry i will let other ppl kno about it as well since i do a lot of android phone flashing and development

Yea, I'm sorry man, but there's already 2 tools for rooting; one from the guy that found the vulnerability and another from members of this forum. I appreciate your effort, but I don't know it's necessary or wanted.

Now if you can get us a AOSP or CM9 for the Spectrum, you'll get a warm response.

I support your work man. I really appreciate your efforts. Don't let admn discourage you. And like mrB said if you can do roms then that would be awesome! We need roms, not new ways to root. I think this is the problem you are having here. People already have a solid way to root and it doesnt make much sense to try a new way when the old way is still solid.

Sorry if my previous post came off rude, I didnt mean it that way

Hey dexslab I want to apologize for what I said earlier as it was unprovoked. I misinterpreted what you meant but that's not an excuse for what I said. By the way having a functional fastboot would be awesome!

I'm impressed by your coming back and apologizing. Thanks.

Now as far as CM9 and things the problem from what i hear is the kernel since it isnt open source but if i can get my brunch working on my ubuntu (been trying to compile CM9 for cricket for E4GT) then i should in theory be able to compile it for the Spectrum using the ICS kernel that is around and hope it boots the problem is tho lol whether or not it will boot off a stock kernel

CM9 (and ICS in general) doesn't work with most stock phones and either HALs are needed to get the hardware to jive with the software or a replacement kernel can solve the problem. Of course, a 'stock' ICS will have these HALs, but custom roms generally require graphics and radio HALs written to get full graphics and data connectivity; replacing the kernel might solve the problem. We may not need HALs, but almost all phones trying to use stock kernels have, so it's a safe bet we will too.. and those take some work. My guess is CM9 isn't going to work on the stock kernel, so you might want to try with Popcorn or Blitzkrieg.
