When will the thunderbolt be released?

March. It's been obvious for a while now.

edit: If the Bionic has an unlocked bootloader I'm getting one instead.

I'm going with March as well, but I think it will either be March 3rd or March 10th, which is only a week or two away.

As for the Bionic, with the anouncement that Moto just made about the Xoom having an unlockable bootloader, I'm thinking the Bionic will have one as well. However I'm still sticking with the TB.
 
March 16th.

My contract is up on March 18th, so it will work out perfect, let people get it two days before me, let me know of any bugs or issues and then if all is well, I can pull the trigger.
 
I'm not giving a date unless there's money in a pool to win. ;)

They will let you upgrade earlier anyway if you call them.
 
Probably March 3rd, maybe the 10th. If the Bionic has a unlocked bootloader than I would want one. But I doubt it comes out until May or June at least. I will use my wife's upgrade at that point to get it and let her take the Thunderbolt. Unless we get tons of custom roms and kernels(which I think we will), then I won't leave.

The only reason the xoom has an unlocked bootloader is because it is basically the D1, but a tablet. Think about it... both were the first major phone and tablet offerings from motorola and had stock android. I'm sure future moto tablets will have blur on them and will be locked. Also the atrix has been found to have a locked bootloader, and with the bionic being a close cousin to it, I see there's no way it will be unlocked
 
i was really looking forward to this phone but with vzw screwing around with us i have lost a lot of interest and am now possibly looking at the bionic.. really dissapointed
