Good to know. I've got an HTC Touch Pro 2 running Winmo 6.5 and the email app is not the greatest. But, maybe that's because it's running Winmo.

Actually, the Sense email is _very_ similar to K-9 and that's probably the top-rated Android mail app.
In addition, you guys will get Sense 2.1 - so if I'm not mistaken, you'll have the first HTC phone in the US with a unified inbox - very cool.

I like the new Sense much, much more. I use the Sense email app rather than the Gmail app for one reason, I can see both accounts (work and personal) in one unified inbox rather than having to switch between them. Also, I use Handcent for SMS because I prefer the way it shows the conversations.
Mind you- I'm on an HTC Inspire, but I imagine the T'Bolt will look pretty similar.
^ and the ability to mark multiple emails as read. that is a BFD to me! it may the only gripe i've had against an otherwise fine HTC email app.

Good news. It's by no means a deal breaker, but IMO the email app on HTC Sense in Winmo leaves room for improvement. On top of how laggy the phone and O/S are on my TP2.

I'm not calling out BMX specifically... but you certainly CAN delay something that hasn't been announced. There are posters who LIVE to jump on anyone that mentions a delay. Just because we weren't given a date doesn't mean there wasn't one.
I'm of the FIRM opinion that Valentine's day was the "sooner than expected" date. That date was missed. Thus, a delay. Why do I think this? Because I just can't imagine that the following meeting took place.
"So... the Thuderbolt ad campaign. You guys are gonna LOVE this!! We hit the TV with a spot. It's a girl counting lightning strikes as a storm approaches. Then... BAM!! Valentines day, we hit with this guy on rooftops showing the phone getting struck by lightning, like Frankenstein!! We run these 24/7 on every station!! Wait!! We also buy web space with banners that open up and take over CNN and other popular web sites!! People won't be able to look at any LCD screen in the US for more than 20 minutes without seeing the Thunderbolt!! Then, without notice... WE PULL THE ADS!! Make them Private on YouTube!! Say NOTHING!!! Act like it NEVER EVEN EXISTED!!! Genius, right?!!"

Isn't this true of any device? I mean, if you ask him in a few months if the Bionic is better than ___insert name of future awesomephone here____ then of course, he's gonna say wait for that future awesomephone because it's better than the Bionic. It's all about finding what fits your needs right now and what you think you'll be happy with.

you know guys... every day since the best buy pre-orders started, i have gotten out of bed excited about this phone, but today... that excitement is just gone. i personally LOVE new tech devices, and i have been drooling over the t-bolt for a long time, but the constant misinformation from "insiders" is starting to make me wish i never even heard of it. sure, i will be excited again when i finally get my hands on the phone, but i am just fed up at this point. VZ won't say anything and every "tip" has, at best, a 50/50 shot of being true. i am really starting to feel like we are actually waiting on Zeus to start chucking these things off the mountain tops, seems more likely than VZ giving them to us (or even acknowledging their existence) at this point.

I have 4 email accounts, all Activesync, that I need. Will the new version be able to sync all 4 into one inbox? As for now I need Touchdown to do that since HTC will only allow one AS and the rest imap or pop.

When running a rom on my INC with the new sense, I could use activesync on (2) accounts, work (exchange) and gmail set up as exchange. Did not do more than (2).

I think the trick is to wait for verizon to give us the date. The speculation is just that. It has been proven wrong countless times from "reliable sources" and where do we stand today? We know no more about the release date than we did a month ago when BB started taking preorders. I still believe verizon will send out an email letting us know we can preorder/order (at least those of us who have registered on VZ website). They did it with the iphone and they had the same sign up with the TB. I was notified when the iphone was available for preorder and I expect the same with the TB.
Prove me wrong anyone...

I agree. Although no date was given it has definitely been delayed (maybe multiple times). The tweet from the beginning of February that said it would be here sooner than expected - I doubt they meant March 10th instead of March 17th etc. Also, the commercials that started airing a few weeks ago at a heavy amount were also a sign that it should have come out around that time. Not to mention Best Buy choosing to run the TB ads - can't tell me they were not told a date at some point to base when to run the ads. I think it has been delayed several times and it is getting old with all this "can't be delayed if it was never announced" because that is not true.

I completely feel you on this. I'm paying full retail for mine and as each day passes I'm really starting to lose interest. I know I will wait for the phone to launch and once it does I'll be happy but each day that goes by gets harder.

I'll give it a try then with all 4 if it will take. That is the only thing I miss from BB, syncing all accounts all the time. I also liked the separate email icons for each account with the little red flag that popped up on email. But I'm making do since my Eris days.

We're just getting ready to start step 12.
I have an HTC EVO and have been really happy with the Sense. The only real thing that a small segment gripe about is sense does something to Bluetooth so you can't use a wiimote with it to play games. I like the Sense email however, recently they changed the way the email syncs. If you delete your email on your email account on another computer/device it will not remove it from the EVO like it used to when it synced. This was because of complaints by customers to HTC. I like the old way it handled the emails. Hopefully they will add an option for this in an update. I am thinking about trying K9 because of this.
If anything is to be blamed for this 'hysteria' (apart from us of course), it's 'news outlets' like Facebook and Twitter. Anyone can create a twitter account and claim to be an insider and pass along bogus information all day. It becomes tiresome to sift through thousands of tweets and try and figure out which source is legit. This is one of the major drawbacks of social media.
I normally don't bother finding out information about phones until they are released. This was an exception as I was eagerly waiting to get rid of AT&T. In the future, I am going to go back to my 'shell' and refrain from checking out such dubious sources until the phone is announced by the manufacturer or Verizon

One of the drawbacks and also one of the biggest selling points, how fast information and hype can spread.
But seriously, I've worked in sales and marketing nearly all my life, I've sold for 2 of the 4 major carriers and have used all their services at one point or another in my life. I read all the tech blogs, live near MIT, have interned at a PR agency, work closely with a PR team, work in e-commerce and online advertising, have a family member at Big Red and once fixed my cousin's Gameboy with a toothbrush, a Qtip and a rubberband.
And this device is coming out on 3/10....

or 3/24....
sensing a trend? At this point, so much time has passed and we are so close that all these new people coming out of the woodwork, if they guess the right date we are supposed to believe them and then trust them? I mean where were they back in Jan or the beginning of Feb?
