Remember the Nexus Q? (Chromecast Discussion)

I have two ordered, trying to cancel my Google Play order, as it has tax and 5-10 day shipping, where Amazon I have Prime, so no tax and free 2 day shipping :p
 
Nope. Both devices have to be peers on the same network. In your case, just use an MHL cable and connect your phone to the tv. For the more advanced functionality, connect a pc to the tv via hdmi.
 
My chromecast from Amazon is going to be here tomorrow! I already have Netflix subscription so the thing is only $35 - $24 = $11 after the 3 months credit. I want to see how well the Chrome browser tab to TV work.

I am considering getting one, though I have no use for one. I may be able to use it in my brothers room. I don't know, maybe I can convince him to get one.
 
Just wondering, does the 3 months of netflix offer only for the play store version or will it be offered with amazon or bestbuy orders?

I think it comes with the Amazon version too. The person above me got his from Amazon and he got a 3 month of Netflix.
 
I've seen best buy and Amazon as confirmed with the Netflix subscription.

Mine isn't showing for delivery until Tuesday :p
 
hmm....I think I might be getting one, I already have netflix.....and bestbuy or amazon is free shipping so...yeah why not!

3 Months of Netflix, I am really considering it now. Wonder what I can watch on there... I've seen basically everything I wanted too, and Netflix doesn't update to the new things fast.

I had to pay tax on mine, stupid NYS :(

Mine shows that it's suppose to come tomorrow, but I don't have a tracking number yet. So I guess we'll see.
 
My understanding of how Chromecast works is that it does NOT mirror from your PC, Mac, iOS, or Android device...but instead recieves a command from that source device to direct it to the content that is to be displayed on the TV.

That said, will Chromecast support Flash content?

Since Chromecast is independent from the source device, would I be able to send a webpage I have open in my Chrome browswer on my Android device, that has Flash content (which I'm not able to see on my Android device), but have it displayed on the TV via the Chromecast dongle?

If not, would I be able to share a webpage I have open in my Chrome browser on my PC, that has flash content (which I AM able to see on my PC), and have it displayed on the TV via Chromecast dongle?

From what I read, it runs a stripped down version of Chrome OS so my guess is maybe
 
I'd love to get one but mine would be very, very expensive. I'd have to buy a new TV to go with it. lol. Yeah, my TV is that old, no way to hook up a Chromecast or anything else that requires a direct plug in. Maybe some day...

Hey, my TV in my room is almost 40 years old. Yes 40 NEC used to make the best TVs around... Now they only make the best monitors around, With 4 billion pixels and $50,000.

Though I can't find that one now, here is the closest one I can find.

That's exactly what I wanted to test out. If it is just Netflix, Youtube, and apps, it is not that much use to me since I already have those apps on my Samsung TV Smart Hub. I do like the control on my phone or my laptop better, so it is still good. But if anything shows up on the local (PC or Phone) chrome browser could be streamed to the TV, it would be awesome. And I am sure once the developers got hold of the code, there will be tons of 3rd party app supports.
 
It does list chrome as well as Netflix, youtube, and Google Play, so I'm thinking it will show browser content as well. Would be huge for espn3 stuff for me. :)

Droid life posted it will also stream local videos from your PC. Didn't mention tablet or phone, but I imagine it's likely as well.
