Help Removing AOL from mail...

I've gotten so frustrated with the mail app on the Incredible 2... I loved it on the Eris because it reflected my Inbox of my accounts that I synced with, but now it shows ALL messages (no matter if I've moved them into folders w/in the account) from the last 30 days (or whatever I set the accounts to).

I really dislike this and want to remove it from my phone, but whenever I try to delete an account (like AOL), it tells me the account can't be deleted and I have to do a factory reset to remove it.

I don't want to have to do another factory reset, as I hate having to set up my phone again (even w/backup assistant, it's a pain... plus I'll lose all my three stars on Angry Birds!:D)...

Can someone out there help me, please, or is this just the way it is?

Between this and the inappropriate "singles" ads that keep popping up when I let my kids play Angry Birds or some other free game (and there is no paid, ad-free option for Angry Birds - and yes, I know I can put it in Airplane mode to stop the ads, but then I would miss calls), I'm about ready to (horror) move to the iPhone.

I have switched Android phones 3 times and did many factory resets and never lost and ounce of angry bird progress...

...because starting over was not an option.. .
Here is the method I used to successfully
accomplish this task.
First off, you will need angry birds, angry birds
back up, (found on market ) es file
explorer, access to wifi network (given one of
your phones does not have service or is not
activated) & dropbox on both phones.
Back up your progress on old phone by hitting
backup on the app,
this will produce setting.bak and
score.bak in the angry birds backup folder on sd
card. Long press on both and
share to dropbox.
Open angry birds on your new device, beat
one level, or more ,and then back up the
progress
on your new device, this will produce
setting and score.bak on new device,
Open es on new and delete setting
and score.bak . Use dropbox on your new phone
to download setting and score.bak , I
could not find where the files
downloaded to, so i searched for
setting.bak in es , I was able to find it like this,
copy it and
paste it back were it goes, in the angry
birds backup folder, do the same
with score.bak . Open the ab backup app on
your
new device and press "RESTORE".
Even the golden eggs you have will be there.

If just doing a factory reset, send the two files from the backup app to dropbox, then reinstall angry birds and the angry birds backup app, open angry birds beat one level and hit back up on the app, then using es delete the two files it creates in the folder on sd card under angry birds backup and put the ones you had chilling in dropbox back where they were and then hit restore.

Root access is not needed to do any of this.

Of you don't want to see the ads and still be able to receive phone calls and text messages just turn off mobile data.
Menu> settings> wireless & networks> mobile network uncheck the box check it back when done.

I had AngryBirdsBackup on my Droid X. I was having some goofy software glitch and Verizon had me do a master reset today. I backed up Angry Birds before the reset. I can't find the app AngryBirdsBackup on the Android Market.

It's not included in My Library on market.android.com. Does anybody know who the developer is for AngryBirdsBackup? Maybe I can find it by looking for the developer.

I don't get it - I deleted my aol email account just the other day, and it didn't ask me to do a factory reset. Is that account the only email associated with your phone? If it is, how about creating a gmail account and then trying to delete the aol account again?
