Root Removing Bloatware Optimus V ?

Newbie
Well I finally rooted the V today. I installed Root Explorer and found the apps I wanted to remove, clicked the Mount button, long click on the app, and selected, delete. They seemed to be gone from the phone, but when I look at app2sd the Avail storage is about the same. It shows 22.91MB. When in Root Explorer it shows 36.35 free. When looking at settings, SD & Phone storage it shows 22.19 MB available. Did I do something wrong? Why do they all show something different? Also when removing stuff like the live wallpapers do you remove the .odex files also? I am new to the so please be gentle

Can any one help me with my stupid questions? Im sure it is very basic to the experienced guys here, but all very new for me.

Look in the BACKside thread, there's a link in the original post to a list of what is safe to remove. Get Titanium Backup from the market, it can nuke apps that can't be removed any other way as well as tons of other useful functions.
