Ok I have a HTC Hero rooted

Was wondering how to remove all my data from the phone including my google account and phone numbers evrything for when i sell it as i dont want the next person who has the phone to know anything and is it even a good idea to sell it or not

another question before i get a new phone where should i put all the data thats on the phone that i want to keep so i can just add it to my new phone

The only possibility to delete Google pairing is to make "Factory data reset" (under Settings / Privacy), this will delete everything which is not in the ROM and you get a clean stock system.
You can backup everything with "Titanium backup" and restore it later (this needs rooted phone). Or just backup applications with "APKOptic", SMS with "SMS Backup & Restore", call logs with "Call Logs Backup & Restore" and synchronize contacts with Googlemail.

kejlyCZ is spot-on with that advice. The only thing I'd add is never include a used memory card, reformatted or not. There's always the chance of recovering data from that given the right tools, so better safe than sorry.
