Root Removing native music player

After you download the music app you like, then down load App Quarantine, or use Titanium Backup to freeze the app. If this doesn't adversely affect your system then delete it.

I just dl'd poweramp. I'm looking for app quarantine, now.

To delete do I just go to manage apps and delete the music.apk
Are there any other files that I need to remove? Seems like I saw a thread where someone mentioned removing a music.odex file but I can't find it.
 
It's a system app so you will need a Root Uninstaller. Titanium Backup will do this. I have the pro version installed which cost a few bucks so I don't know if the free version will or not. Root Uninstaller will delete a system app as well.
With the V just delete the .apk.
 
Yeah I don't mind paying the change for poweramp.

Here is a weird thing though...

I flashed the latest JerryScript build after removing the native music player and it didn't come back with the ROM update. How come? Just curious... I don't want it...
 
Probably deeply rooted in the android system,I know when I flashed my first rom all my bloatware stood intact, so I'm guessing the rom dosnt over write system apps
