Root rename zip file

Mikestony

Hello all...I downloaded a bootanimation zip file to sd card and flashed it..all went well...now, on my sd card it is named... v1_blue_3.xx-signed.zip.
2 questions:
1. Can I rename it something like, mybootanimation.zip to help identifying it without any problem?
2. Once I flashed it, where is it stored?
I am on Mikg v3...stock kernel..amon ra v2.3 recovery..
Thanks, :)

Its stored in system/customize/resource/...after you flash the file, you can delete it from your sd card or rename it whatever you want.. Just dont mess with the one thats in the directory shown above

yep basically once you flash or install files from the sd card, depending on what it is, will usually be installed onto the system partitions. once that is done anything on the sd card will not be needed. so it will be up to you on what you do with it.

Nice....so I can rename it mynicebootup.zip and if I ever need to reflash it from recovery, I would have no issues?

if this file can be flashed in recovery then yes you can rename it to whatever you want and still be able to flash it. not sure why you want ot rename it. however some booanimations use the PC36IMG file and those you can rename, but if you want to use it again then you will need to rename it back to PC36IMG. so it will depend on the file.
