Help Render screen in grayscale

APag96

Newbie
I have Wyzor's mod installed on my MT.
Is there any way (root or non-root) to render the screen in only grayscale or black and white? I know that CM7 has different rendering options, but none are grayscale :/

Thanks guys!

That's an interesting question, so I dug around.
There doesn't seem to be anyway to do that.
The nexus guys have come up with a hack to tweak rgb levels, but only for their device (oled screen).
Not sure off it can go gray scale either.
Apparently it's a difficult thing to do... especially since there is no source code available for the vid drivers. :(

I've heard this can save you a lot of battery life, is that true? :o I'd love to see this on the Triumph.

Thanks for looking around for me. I have also done quite a bit of searching myself. I've found a couple of apps on the Play Market that allow one to edit the RGB levels and the brightness and contrast. Nothing about the render colors :(

That's one of the main reasons I'm looking for this. I would imagine it would save me a TON of battery!

I'm not so sure about that.
The majority of screen related power draw is from the back light. I don't think that would change at all with gray scale rendering.
