Replace HTC Lockscreen, an Incredible Find!

I downloaded "SMS unread count" from the market and put it on my widgetlocker screen. It notifies me of unread text messages just like stock widget.

i use handcent, and that widget works fine on the lockscreen (unread count). it's the htc mail app, which should show unread count, that does not work. if there was a widget that showed unread count for mail that would send me on touch to the htc mail app, that would be great. i don't use gmail, i use yahoo mail. their mail app does not have an upread count, though. oh, well.

I have an incredible, but despite what you have said about the sense alarm, it isn't working very well with WidgetLocker.

The first time it rings, it will display the pop up 75% of the time. This happened the past 3 days I've tried, but this morning, no pop up. and yes I made sure the "Clock" app is running in the background before I went to bed.

Now, 100% of the time, after hitting "Snooze" on the pop up (i usually set my alarm 15 minutes earlier so I can snooze a few times), it never pops up again. I can hear it ring after 5 minutes, but no pop up. The lock screen does come up though. I have to manually kill the "Clock" process to stop the alarm sound.

If you have a test version of WidgetLocker you would like me to test, I'd be willing to install it on my phone. I just don't want to be late again to work :)

Shoot me a PM if you have any questions/tests you'd like me to run.

If I have the weather animations on from the new version of Beautiful Widgets, it takes a couple of seconds before I'm able to slide to unlock. This is on the leaked version of Froyo.

i have this same issue. if you use the weather animations from the new beautiful widgets, the weather animation starts when you wake the phone, right there on the widget locker lock screen. it stutters and doesn't work properly, but i was getting slow moving, jerky clouds on the lockscreen. i decided to again just ditch my beautiful widgets in favor of the htc widgets; i was only trying it on launcher pro, in anticipation of them adding the facebook widget (mimicing friendstream). i'm just staying with sense for now.

but the beautiful widgets animation thing is still an issue for those using it.

Oh, my bad. I misread what u wrote. Thought you were talking about text messages. Hope you find something!

Figured out last night that it was the opening animation from BW causing the lag. I have since disabled it and i havent had the issue again.

Does that app open up the messaging app when you click on it? I've been using SMS Popup but hmm.

p.s., kevin, if you don't have it already (i think i mentioned it above somewhere), it would be really cool if you could look into whether there's any way to make it so the htc sense clock/weather widget still does the animation on unlock (right now it won't do it with wl). i'm assuming there's probably no way around this, but i just wanted to put it out there again. i didn't see here that you'd addressed it, but i apologize if i missed it. thanks!

Executive assistant free will do this on your lock screen or any screen.

I've played around with this a bit and just last night got a proof of concept, so it is indeed possible for me to do this, but there's still somethings that I need to figure out. (HTC doesn't exactly document this API). It looks like I could have the weather animation appear either on top of WidgetLocker or after unlock (Even if you aren't using Sense UI home or even if the program under the lockscreen is not Home!). But I still need to figure out what the actual weather is (I'd rather not check the weather myself as then it could disagree with the clock's icon). Also some of the animations are supposed to be centered on the clock, but I have no way of knowing where the clock is positioned.

Hm... not sure if im following this right but i do have animated weather(clouds rolling in and such) on my lock screen.

The HTC animations work if you use a security unlock or if you check "Retain system keyguard" (Which will break the alarm clock and I don't recommend this setting).

Beautiful Widgets sound like they run on top of WidgetLocker..

After installing on my HTC INC, I noticed that incoming calls no longer are ringing on my custom ringtones I had set for the various numbers. Any suggestions as to getting this back?

I've never seen this issue, but have you gone back and set your custom ringtones since this happened and did they stick?

Just wanted to say I've been using and loving this app since the day this thread started.

A few quick notes, which I think others have mentioned:

1) No weather animations w/HTC weather widget after unlock.

2) No matter how long it takes me to unlock WL for the first time, the actual phone doesn't seem to actually load until that first unlock. I get the HTC Black screen with "Loading..." no matter how long until I unlock.

3) I chose a separate wallpaper for WL and it kept my old one.

I have been searching for a customizable lock screen and tried them all. Lockbot, and Goto. I stumbled upon this thread and I have to say Widget Locker is far superior to all of them. I simply love it. And the fact that the developer is taking the time to check out the forums and respond to all the postings is awesome. Kevin, thanks for making a wonderful App, its definitely one of my top 10 Apps.

Kevin any word on when you will be able to fix sense loading upon first boot? Next update maybe? ;)
I think I talked to you by email. My latest build has the Loading... gone but the HTC splash still shows after WidgetLocker.

This is curious. I'll look into it.

1) No weather animations w/HTC weather widget after unlock.
Actually made surprising progress on this (especially surprising since I wasn't planning on supporting them). Still some things to work out, but it looks like they'll be working more or less in the next update.

3) I chose a separate wallpaper for WL and it kept my old one.
If you try again does it still ignore it?

okay, this is a nifty little program. i set it so it shows just my phone, email, messages, and facebook, just unread counts. i was able to ditch the handcent and mail icons on wl. i tested it all out, and it seems to work great so far, going to the correct apps i selected and showing mail unread count. it does seem to maybe have a slight lag in showing the unread count on mail when i first wake the phone (on the wl screen), but i'll keep monitoring it and see how it does. so far, i'm pretty happy with it, and it's the only thing i've seen that does what i need, so yay. i also like that it doesn't have any icon names/text. thanks!

I'm using the HTC style slider, and I noticed today that the year isn't displayed in the date... it just says "August 1,"

Is there a character limit cutting this off? BTW, the official Sense slider includes the day of the week with the date, any chance you could match this Kevin?

Just want to say Widget Locker is already an excellent program and looks like it's only going to get better thanks to Kevin's efforts and support.

I'm not even using it for the widgets. I'm using it to add a unique wallpaper for my lock screen, access to the notification bar, easy wake for the optical button and the back button unlock. Sometimes I throw a music service widget on there while I'm using the program. Love all the options.
