Replace HTC Lockscreen, an Incredible Find!

Yeah already have that set. Maybe the app just lags a bit upon startup. When my phone first boots I have the Sense swipdown to unlock. After the one minute timeout (upon first boot) WidgetLocker is then enabled.

when you are at the swipescreen, hit menu>settings. click on Clear Default Home. then touch your home button. you get your home options in a pop up. choose Make Default! WLocker Helper. that will make it so your swipe screen goes to widgetlocker every time.

I like the swipe down to unlock ;)

you can still use the sense downward swipe. it's one of the options under "slider and layout". but you can also enable the other cool options, like being able to wake from other buttons besides the top one, and putting widgets on the swipe screen. so you get the best of all worlds. :-)

any idea how to change the background for the lockscreen?

Anyone know if this plays nice with genie widget? I loved lockbot pro but it caused so many little glitches in other programs I stopped using it.

yep, it works with that. i had it on there for a while, but switched it out. it cycles the news and links to the story list and weather.

i'm pretty sure you cannot do that. sorry. you have to have the same background for lockscreen as you have for your regular home.

might want to email the dev and ask for that feature.

awesome. thanks.----------------email sent.

this has become one of my favorite things i'm using on my phone. however, that said, there seems to be some sort of issue with screen time out. it seems to time out very quickly no matter what i have my settings on. right now i have both my phone and the app set to 30 seconds, but it definitely times out sooner than that. i have a game (word up) that i'm almost constantly interacting with when it's open, and it's never threatened to time out before. now when i pause for a very short time, it wants to time out. i'm not sure if i'm just noticing this all the sudden or if it really is a glitch. has anyone else had a similar problem with the screen timing out faster than you'd like?

i think it's strange that there is a setting where you can have the screen lock come on during a phone call. i'm not sure why you would want that to happen, ever. but you can set it that way. strange (to me).

There's huge lag, in that it shows the stock Sense lock screen then shows the WidgetLocker lock screen. If it didn't do this, then I'd be happy. Got my refund back.

if you follow the directions i listed above, you will have no lag at all:

when you are at the swipescreen, hit menu>settings. click on Clear Default Home. then touch your home button. you get your home options in a pop up. choose "Make Default! WLocker Helper". that will make it so your swipe screen goes to widgetlocker every time.

and, i will add, it does it instantly, rather than any lag. it's too bad you already got your refund, because this really does work.

I had to get a refund too. Optical wake up was laaaaaagy and I couldn't control my music from the lock screen.

My optical wake was pretty laggy...until I rebooted. Now it wakes up right when I press the button.

One thing I do notice though (and someone mentioned this above), when I reboot the sense screen will come up first. Thats it though, never again unless I reboot again.

And yes, I do have it set as my default.

One question though, the right hand slider that says sound, what exactly is this supposed to mute?

I love this program, it just sucks that its a habit now to wake it with the power button. I want to stop that because my power button isnt level like it should be. One side is more "in the phone" than the other side.

Im glad to see this doesnt keep the phone awake when you put it to sleep. That was my biggest problem with lockbot.

yeah, that was the first test i ran on it. so far i haven't found any problems with it except that screen time out that seems a bit too quick.

One question are you guys hiding your notification icon?

i was but then i realized i wanted it because i use handcent, and i have it wake the phone when i get a text. i like to see the little notification icon when it wakes it up, then i can easily pull down the notification bar and check it. if it wasn't for that, i would have kept it off.

I have my notification bar turned off. I never have my phone on silent so I always hear it come through. I just hit the menu button and then select notifications that way. :)

Mine was also laggy until I rebooted the phone. It runs perfect now!

Why not just enable the pop-up window to wake the screen when you receive a text? I have/do that and i love it! Its just like the iphone, although i do not love it for that reason. I just love the convenience.
As far as widgetlocker goes, its cool but wont always react when i press the trackpad. Seemingly only works once ever 4 or 5 tries. Other than that, i love it!

OP, thanks for tip on this app, well worth the 99 cents.

I've moved the picture frame widgets of my kids to the lockscreen, added the battery life and switchpro widget. This allowed me to clear out my default homescreen.

emailed the developer and there seems to be some SWEET additions to this coming in the next week or so.

yes, and i encourage anyone having any problems at all with this app to email the dev, he is very responsive and working hard on lots of improvements. can't wait for next week's update!

for anyone who has widgets that don't seem to work well with widgetlocker, just email the dev and let him know which one and what doesn't work. i'm sure he'll look into it. better to improve the app than just give up on it because of one thing that might be fixable.
