replacemement Digitizer glass

katone

Newbie
Got the F6 a couple weeks ago and it's been good now that it's rooted + app2sd'd
Anyway today I noticed my glass cracked, no big deal I'll put a new one on but was wondering if anyone as any experience with the ebay glasses: some have the LG logo and some don't (both ship from the US), I'd rather the one without logo but do they function the same?

here are some examples:
no logo
with logo

thanks

I''ll give you my standard advice (from decades of refusing to fix what other people have "fixed" - don't. Unless you have a good heat gun, and experience replacing AT LEAST 5 or 6 glass screen panels, you're going to do one of 2 things - either heat the panel too much and ruin the whole screen, or not heat the panel enough, break the glass when you try to remove it and tear the LCD screen. In the end you'll pay more than it would cost to bring the phone to a repair shop and pay to have it done.

As far as the screens, there's probably no difference, but there's no way to tell until you get one of them on the phone.

You are correct there sir. Unless you have done them a few times before and know exactly when to start the removal of the digitizer, and even using the correct tools... [those plastic pry bars SUCK!!!!!!!!!! use a this bass players pick], it would just be smarter to have someone else who offers insurance on it replace it. That way, you get what you pay for. And if it gets messed up, they usually replace what has broken.

I am about 80% sure they should both work. They are for the same phone, one on T-mobile, and one on Metro-pcs. The one without the LG logo is for T-mobile phones. Should still work tho. Every time I bought a replacement, it came out fine.

Yes, leave it to the pros less you are willing to replace what you may damage.
I have repaired hundreds of iPads, phones, MacBooks for the school districts in my county and I still damage wifi or power cable ribbons on occasion (yes I repair the damaged parts free). If you do have to order the screen from ebay, make sure the seller offers a warranty, logo or no logo should work the same, I have had phones that have different connections though but I have not repaired an F6 yet.

My t-mobile F6 also has a cracked screen. When researching T-mobile's Warranty -Insurance that we've been paying $8.00 a month, we found out that to get a replacement phone, we'd have to pay a $100.00 deductible. Fu.... er... Forget That!!!

My go around.... Was to get a screen protector for it. Now, you can't see the crack when looking directly at the screen, just at real sharp angles, and you can not feel the crack when using the touch screen.
