Accessories Replacment speaker EVO

the evo hasen't been out for more than year. so it is still covered under warrenty. take it to sprint. they should fix you right up at no cost to you:)
 
I replaced my speaker two weeks ago . It was super easy . Do a search on the web for HTC evo speaker replacements . I found a web site that had a few guys trying different phone speakers on their evos and some part numbers on them . I paid 5 dollars for mine . Hope this helps
 
I work around metal and the metal dust gets in there some how
I have taken the speaker out and cleaned it As soon as i replace
the speaker i will have to put some tape over it

and yes it is super easy to get out, I like that part
 
nothing against endoracing because he is awesome for stocking up on those but if you are not comfortable doing it yourself just stop by a sprint repair store and ask them to repair it for you
 
Had my speaker replaced last week at a local Sprnt Repair Center. Took them about 10 minutes from start to fnish, and of course it is free. 1 year manufacturer warranty, but they told me it had chaned and without my insurance that it would have to be mailed back to HTC to be repaired. Any one heard of that crap? I would be pissed if that was true and I didn thave insurance...

from what I have read it is supposed to work this way

insurance= fixed in store no charge

no insurance= fixed in store for $35 OR mail to htc (which may cost you as well)

alot of stores seem to be handling it however they want to but that is the way I understand that it is supposed to work
 
Yea, I am glad I have insurance. I dont think its fair to the ones who dont though....isnt that what the 1 year manufacturer warranty suppose to cover? A speaker being blown in a few months is a defect of the device, not the users fault. unless of course there is obvious user damage...
Either way though, doesnt matter to me becasue I ALWAYS get insurance!!
 
FWIW 1 year manufacturer's warranty means it is the manufacturer's burden. There are some stores (Best Buy being one of them) that work with the manufacturer's on this, but that is the company's choice. Sprint in no way needs to honor the warranty out out by the makers of their handsets, although it would be a nice gesture.
 
Question why did you want to replace your speaker if it has not already been said..

I have noticed my speaker (on rear) has been getting muffled and scratchy sounding and the ear piece speaker is sounding very muffled now.
 
I just had mine replaced today for free in under an hour (had a few phones left from overnight). I also got a new charging cord for free as mine wasn't clicking into the charging port.

Mind giving me step by step instructions on how to do that? I also work with metal dust as a welder, and now my back speaker is sounding scratchy.
 
took me all but 10 min to do it now no more buzzy sounds from the phone.. it used to sound pretty bad..

But for the people that had to replace the speaker how has the replacement been holding up?
