I think everyone should do a Factory Reset after installing the update... cleared up a few problems for me from the get go.

Issue I have is, text messaging. A lot of times I get an error when trying to send a text and have to resend it multiple times. I'm also not getting my text messages sometimes. This morning I woke up and checked my messages, nothing, then all of a sudden I got like 6 that were sent the previous night and didn't know about them because I just now received them....
 
After the OTA I no longer have access to my purchased apps. If I try to install them again I get a message that I have to purchase them. Same gmail account as before.
 
Something new I noticed yesterday, and tried again today with no luck... Mabilo ringtones doesnt really work anymore.
The tones I had on 1.5 are still there, and I re-assigned them to my contacts, and they work. But I cannot preview any ringtones in the app anymore. I figured I would just download one, and if I didnt like it I would just delete it. Well, cant download either. It says it is downloading, but just gets stuck. Only way to get out of that screen is by pressing home.
Did that, went back in, still showed the download screen. So I went back home, and killed the app in ATK.
 
In 1.5 I could specify which Google contact groups would be synced. In 2.1 I now have all 1242 Google contacts !!! I cannot find the option - if it is still there - to select the groups I want on my phone.

Have I missed a menu option somewhere?

FWIW, it is good to see the Google default contact groups, now sync w/Eris...
 
I might just be imagining it but, the volume seems to be lower after the 2.1 update. The lowest volume 'bar' sounds noticeably lower than pre-2.1.

^Me Too.....so far only negative.....Voice Dialer only kinda works
 
I think it's funny that there are only 4 pages in this thread so far, but there are literally FORTY threads about individual bugs/complaints, most of which are redundant. I would like to say thank you to everyone who actually posted in this thread instead of starting a new one.

My wife lost her "phone" contacts after the OTA this morning, but that's the only complaint she's reported so far that wasn't fixed after a reboot.
 
wife's phone had only about 6 htc widgets show up after the OTA. did a hard reset and they all started working, but the phone could no longer authenticate to verizon for voice calls. data still worked though. after a brief chat with the vzw support lady, she said others had this problem with the OTA after a hard reset for various reasons. she also mentioned that if enough people complain about the weather thing, they can ask HTC to release a patch for that. MAKE SURE YOU CALL IF THE WEATHER THING DOESNT WORK. downside is that a hard reset is the only way to fix the weather thing.

It's still there; mine is flashing right now in fact.

You can change the settings for it under Settings>Sound & Display>Notification flash. It says it's for the LED, but I'm pretty sure it's really for the trackball. If you use Handcent for SMS, you can set that to flash the trackball specifically in its notification settings.

I know it's painful, guys, but I truely believe a factory reset will fix the majority of these issues. I updated this morning, encountered a few FC's and other issues so I did a factory reset and I haven't had ANY of these issues since. If you can deal with setting up your phone again and losing a few things like texts, DO A FACTORY RESET. It's totally worth it.
 
1.weather app dont work any more.
2.i used the spare parts app and it doesnt work like it used to. i used it to set the power button to hit it once and it went to home screen and hit it again and it went to sleep.i really miss that.
what does every body do that dont have spare parts,do you just let the phone time out and go to sleep on its own? forget that question,i just uninstalled spareparts and power button does put it to sleet just doesnt jump to home screen first guess spareparts dont work and have to retrain myself.
 
Is anyone using a contact manager like aContacts or Contacts Evolved and not seeing the groups' members? All my contacts resynced, the contacts groups are still there but these apps don't show the members of the group, they're blank!
It's driving me nuts. Help!

Her text messages have a notification ring when she sends. I found in her message settings where you can disable it but I was not allowed to deselect the option. Any idea's??? :confused:
I still wish I had that problem so I could play with my own 2.1 update. :(

You have to enable the notification button (like 4 options above the one you want to change) which activates all the checkboxes below so you can uncheck them individually

I have a droid, gf has an eris. I just noticed that the eris has a feather to pinch to zoom on the homescreen to see all of the different screens. Since when has this been a featuer?

Has worked for me so far and other folks have gotten the same thing to work. Please Sticky or something or lets get a thread that has bug fixes on it :)
 
I went from a great phone with great batt life to batt life that is not worth crap after factory reset no apps no use -74 sitting on the bed 6 hours from full charge to red light. Also every thing turned off.

Yup same problem with the calendar. I use the HTC widget and I used to be able to tap on a day/date and see my appts, but now forces close. If I tap the top right corner of the widget works fine but I'd rather not open the whole app.

Works differently in 2.1 (learned this the hard way this afternoon... mine updated this morning).

From the home screen, click Menu then Connect to PC. Then you can set whether it only syncs, or allows SD card access or whatever.

Similar issue here, but with the Exchange contacts. Only want my Google contacts to sync, not the Exchange... but it didn't give me the choice, as original setup with 1.5 did. You can decide which contacts won't be visible, but it seems like they're all still on the phone anyway. Arrgggg.....

yeah thats the problem i am having too, its not showing my signal correctly or something. went from 4 bars to zero. had that problem since i installed leak v1. sucks and thats really the only problem i'm having.
