Root Reprograming a new number on CM7

I have an Optimus M on CM7 and when I tried to reprogram it with my number with the ##626* it didn't do anything. Anyone have any ideas? or does anyone know the standard MDN programming for android phones ?
 
Try *228 that's for reprogramming but cm7 is missing dial pad. And plus cm7 is missing LG hidden menus so u have to go back to stock then program ur phone. Or try and get all the LG hidden menu apks. Hope this helps
 
the hidden menu apks dont work.. there is another folder in the data part of stock that has more stuff the hidden menus require.. i will get around to gathering this all otgether at some point to see if i can get it working on cm7
 
Man you don't need to goto stock to change the number. Fire up QPST service programming and just change all instances of the old number to the new number... have to get MIN from metro and enter it on the first page of service programming.
 
True. But I thought he ment programming it in general. Lol. Cause cm7 don't have dial pad when doing *228. Unless its been upgraded

I was just saying you don't need *228 to program. Yes that is ONE way, but not the only. QPST can program the phone without it even being powered on, no matter the rom.
 
Speaking of qpst...I have been wondering about something. Would it be illegal if I bought an evo and wrote all of my service programming from my optimus onto it so I could use it on metro...or would that work at all? Obviously I wouldn't be planning on ever using my optimus again or selling unless I restored the service programming.
 
how would i flash it without taking it to an authorized metro dealer? i know that i can bring it to a metro dealer outside of the corporate system because they technically can just put the evo's info right into the metro system...but i dont have any authorized dealers anywhere near me...soooo is there a way to do it with out taking to an authorized dealer that isnt illegal?
 
Kelso could probably help you and you can also check out Howard Forums. There is a section explaining adding ESNs to the Metro database.
 
alright cool...i already talked to kelso about it too. he is where i got the authorized dealer idea lol. but thanks for pointing me in the right direction :)
 
ugh my phones mass storage wont come on when i plug it in ... the driver is installed and usb debugging is on :p is there something i can do to fix this? if it doesnt come on i cant even try qpst
 
You don't need mass storage enabled to use qpst. You just plug it in and find out what COM port you are on and make sure it is open in qpst. You connect to qpst through the COM port not through mass storage.
 
hmmmm...are you sure? when you plug your phone in open control panel and find device manager and there should be an option called "ports" double click that and it should have something about an android device with a (COM (port number here)) next to it.

Yes. Very important to get the latest drivers. If for some reason they're not doing it for you, I've uploaded the ones I use. maybe these will recognize your device. I apologize if this is against forum rules so feel free to edit my post if so.
