Help Rerouting speaker functions - possible?

Firasa

Lurker
It's kind of a long story, but I'll keep this simple.

My LG Optimus V speaker is dead, and the headphone jack will not work either. Is it possible to somehow route my ringtone to my earpiece (which obviously still works)

Would that even be plausible?

I've looker around various search engines for any apps but came up with nothing.

My phone is no longer under warrant, and id like to hold off on buying a new one or getting it repaired if possible.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section I looked around didn't really see anywhere else it would go (I could be completely wrong).

You probably could actually through software as I believe Android uses the Advanced Linux Sound Architecture (ALSA) and you have some ability to change how sound is routed though the phone. But this will require some knowledge of ALSA, rooting of the phone, and probably using Android Debug Bridge (adb) software to access a shell terminal. You might want to pose this question in the firmware/rooting forum. Also you might want to check out the xda forum too for Android Android Devices @ xda-developers.

Of course that's the hard way and I've never really come across an app that could do this either (although I haven't had the need to either).

True, the OV was released in February 2011, therefore as of right now, the only OV's out of warranty are rooted or abused. Mine is both! :D
