Reserved folder names

On the root of your internal/external sd card, I know that you can have a "Media" folder and a "Samsung" folder.

I'm not sure what the difference is between the 2 of these, but I know that underneath both of these, you can store files under certain preset folders so that they appear where you would expect them to within the phone (Eg. put your own message alerts into a folder called "Notifications" to see it in the selection process)

So far I am aware of the following folders:

Music
Notifications
Ringtones

Does anyone have a complete list of the reserved folder names, and if the folder name is not entirely obvious, what they are used for? In particular, I would like to know what to call the Wallpaper folder so I can put my own files in there for easier selection so that they are seen when the wallpaper gallery is chosen to be browsed. I've tried "Wallpaper" and "Wallpaper Gallery" but this just shows under the general gallery (eg. when browsing photos)

Also, what is the difference between the "Media" and the "Samsung" folder?

Good question, I'd like to know what some of these folders are and whether I can delete any of the miriad of stuff everything creates in there (especially from apps that I have since deleted) - without deleting anything important.

What is the end result you are after. Are you able to change the wallpaper? You just want to separate them? I have simply created a top level folder called 'Documents' and everything is under there. Click on any picture file in gallery click menu, setas and you should get choice of home screen or lock screen?

Just curious as to what the preset folders are thats all.

As for the wallpaper, yes I can set to any picture i choose from my gallery or anywhere else for that matter, but I thought it would be nice if such pictures could be placed in a "reserved" folder for wallpapers, so they would automatically appear in the list when you select the "wallpaper gallery" option, afterall, the few that you do see here must be in a folder somewhere but I suppose rooting is required to see this?

Not a biggie I know, but it would just be a nice touch.

I have a feeling that the wallpaper and live wallpaper folders will be hidden in the root folders somewhere, I have not come across similar method as ringtones to add to the existing lists - yet!!
