I appreciate the information, but there have been previous updates through other channels that stated the same thing:

Samsung is testing software to optimize GPS on Galaxy S phones. Look for updates in September. Details & download instructions to follow. 4:30 PM Aug 13th via CoTweet
I am well aware that information has already been provided and that a GPS solution had been confirmed by Samsung nearly a month ago. I did not mean for this post to be the definitive response and proof that a solution was coming.
As I noted in my post, most of the information is not new, except for the statement that it is a confirmed software issue. I have not seen a statement from Samsung stating that it is software only to date. Many on this board and across the net have speculated that it is hardware and that a patch would merely help fix some of the hardware problems. This email clearly stated it was a software problem.
I simply received the email, and decided to share it with other Captivate users. I am fully aware that the information is out there and has been out for awhile. I made the decission to share a response I received from att, a response that many on this forum have found helpful.

(OK - we don't really torture anyone, mmmk!)
