Root Restoring apps after new ROM install.

What is the best way for restoring apps after a ROM install. Currently I am using Defrost but it updates that often I try to keep up. I have got into the practice of making a backup using ROM manager then doing a full cache and data wipe before installing the new ROM.

I have been letting the phone do its own thing and eventually the apps seem to restore themselves eventually, but is there a quicker way to restore them after a full wipe.

Cheers.

astro file manager (market) does apps backup to sdcard. It's free and installs them again pretty painlessly

Agreed. +1 for Astro, although be aware the apps are like a fresh install. User data can be lost so top scores in games etc...

-1 for astro...

+1million for titanium

Titanium restores ALL your APPS AND APP DATA. Everything. Market links too.

And you shouldn't need to wipe flashing a defrost rom on top of another defrost. No issues my end and I've never done it. But I always do a titanium and a nandroid backup in case i have to.

What Lekky said!

Titanium is fantastic.

And again, as for Defrost, I've never had to wipe anything, you can upgrade straight over the top. Give it a try next time! ;-)

As always, do a nandroid before you do!!

Although, menu, batch and choosing to run backup.user apps and system data isn't too long.
