Root Restoring APPS and Settings

Hi,

I am new to this forum and I recently upgraded my prevail to gingerbread and root'd it. I had many apps installed to my sd card using link2sd and after the upgrade I don't see any of my apps anymore on my phone but I still see them on my sd card.

I made a backup of my phone's sd card contents. How do I restore all the apps I had already downloaded? Also, how do I restore the settings of my phone like my ringtone, wallpaper, etc. that I had before the upgrade and the root? I heard of titanium backup but I thought I would be able to backup all my apps/settings by creating a copy of my sd card. Can I still restore my apps if there are still available on my sd card? Also, what else will I be able to restore with my sd card?
