Root Restoring files...help please

I have a Droid Incredible phone. Earlier this afternoon, I rooted the phone, then downloaded and backed up all files using TitaniumBackup, installed and ran ClockworkMod and then installed the CyanogenMod ROM. Everything went well and the new operating system appears to work well. The problem I'm having is I can no longer see/find the TitaniumBackup icon to launch and restore my original data files. I can go to the SD card and see my original data files, I'm just not sure how to recover them without having access to the TitaniumBackup Icon to start the recovery program. Can someone walk me through how I can recover my original files. Thank you in advance for your help.:o

Each time you flash a Rom, you must go to the market and download Titanium. When you set it up, it will search for, and recognize the files on the SD card that you mentioned. Then you will be ready to restore as needed.

Iowabowtech - Thnak you for the information. I too thought of this as a possible option; but with the new ROM flash, I don't see an icon for accessing the market to redown load Titanium Backup. How do I access the market?

Can someone walk me through how to reinstall all google apps, post installing the new ROM system? If I could can get all previous google apps reinstalled (Market, Navigation, et.) this would solve most all my problems. I tried a couple of work arounds last evening and the system directed me to entering my google account. Upon entering my google account, I received a message that no Android phone was associated with the account. Somewhat frustrating.

This has nothing to do with your root access or custom ROM. Double-check your spelling and make sure you can log into your google account through a normal web browser.

Google apps is a package that is flashed just like a Rom. You can get it through rom manager and on the cyanogen most recent version wiki page among other places. You don't install a bunch of separate Google related apps, just the package. It takes care of everything. You flash it typically back to back with the Rom install but you can now do it after the fact. Just don't wipe data and cache this time.

Iowabowtech - I'm not familiar with the functions within ROM Manager. Once I launch the ROM Manager app, which option do I choose to flash google apps? My apologizes for the rudimentary question(s), I'm just not that familiar with this app and flashing the system

Thnak you all that contibuted to this thread, especially Iowabowtech. Based on his input, I was able to go out to CM7's wiki, down load the latest google apps and flash them to my Dinc. My Dinc is now functioning as it did prior to my loading of CM7. The only aspect I have not figured outr how to reload is the extensive contacts list I had before wiping the phone and flashing the new ROM. My contacts were stored in the <People> app, and I had also created a couple of folders that contained the 15 or so most often dialed numebrs that I had set up for quick dialing.

Although I used Titanium Backup to back up my data, I'm not sure how it handled the folders I had created and my People contact list. If anyone knows how I can recover these two aspects from my backup files, I would appreciate your guidance. Thnaks again!

I can't help with your people contacts, although someone here should know which "system" data file their in.

I would HIGHLY recommend converting "phone" contacts into Google contacts though. This eliminates the need for backing them up as they are automatically and instantly sync with your Google account...

+1 ^^

"People" was replaced by "contacts" when you changed to CM7 so we're now talking about 2 separate but very similar apps. If you have a nandroid backup of your previous froyo setup, first make a new nandroid of your CM7 configuration, then nand restore to 2.2 and restore the people app via Titanium. Then convert all the contacts to Google contacts so they will always sync back for you no matter which Rom you're on. Then you can nand restore to CM7 and the circle of life will be complete. :D

Iowabowtech - thank you for your continued help. Relative to my (people) contacts, I never made a nandroid backup; I only backed up my system with titanium backup before flashing the new rom. i have two Dinc's, one running cyanogen the other still running froyo. By chance, would titanium have backed up my contact list, and would I be able to copy it over to th Dinc running froyo, then from here to google so that I could access the data thru goiogle with my phone running cyanogen?

It should work. The other option, if you havent made any new backups with Titanium since you were on 2.2, would be to flash a 2.2 Rom, restore your contacts etc. Then nand back to CM7. Might as well try the other phone first since its already running Froyo.
