Why post these? If you are unhappy with your device... return it. Why do you need other people to convince you to keep a device you are unhappy with?
It's a cry for help. We should help these people along as best we can, since they lack the strength themselves. I suggest answering all such wails of desperation with:
Yes, please return the Motorola Atrix to your nearest AT&T dealer as soon as possible. This device is causing you too much pain and must be removed from your presence as quickly as possible. It is a wonderful device but unfortunately, it is sometimes just too much for some individuals to take for too long. We understand and are here to help you. We suggest you try a Pantech Ease for your communication needs.

Or try something else a little more basic with Android. Ya know, like a Motorola Flipout... or maybe a Captivate. <dodges thrown objects from Captivate fanboys>Why post these? YupI continue to learn helpful tips from this forum almost every day that make my android-owning experience a more positive one. It's been said so many times before, but if you don't feel those cries for help are worth responding to, you should feel free to not respond.
This forum was created for us to share our Android experience and help each other out. We promote a friendly and helpful atmosphere. I see threads created by those that have issues with an Android phone that simply can't take it anymore and this is their last 'call for help'. I usually ask what issues they are facing that they feel the need to return the phone. It might have been an issue with a fix that they didn't know. They might have thought of trying out Android but realize that overall, the OS is not for them. Unlike the iPhone, which gives you all of the basic apps that you are forced to use, Android allows you the ability to customize and choose what's the perfect fit for you.I think if you're angered by "returning my atrix" threads, then there's a good chance you're having doubts about your own Atrix, no? Otherwise, they're just other threads of people discussing the good and bad points of a given phone.
You must have been very optimistic buying the Atrix then, knowing beforehand Moto's track record.I can tell you why I'm leaning towards returning mine - the bootloader and the misinformation / poor expectations set by Motorola.
. This is the biggest reason why I'm attracted to the Nexus line...pure freedom. It's just the Nexus S disappointed me upon announcement. I never rooted my Nexus One during the 9 months I had it.I do see your point, Roze. Though, it is frustrating when you come to these forums for conversation about your phone and to analyze and help people with problems as well as work some out of your own and all that you see every other post is "Screw this phone, its going back tomorrow" posts every 3 lines. These people don't have to look for help in this way. If they are having specific problems we are here to help. Lashing out with nerd rage just to get some help seems backwards to me. I'm not a psychologist. I don't want to reverse engineer peoples emotions about their phone in order to help them better understand it. Have a problem, though? Say so, I'll do my best to be friendly and help. Thats how I see it.

Actually... not at all. Its just crowding my discussion forum and drowning out good discussion.
Edit: K, I think we can call it quits on this thread... they seem to have all died out from the first page. Hopefully we're in the clear. <crosses fingers>

I don't know, I'm interested in hearing why people wanna return the phone. I don't have it yet, so reading those lets me know what's up. However, one of the more common complaints I've seen the slow data speeds, which I know isn't the fault of the phone, it's the fault of AT&T.
For what it's worth, I'm in an area that, as I was told, has already had the work done for 4G. The sales rep in my AT&T store even printed out a map to show someone else who was looking at the phone to show them that ...
...and yet I get no faster speeds than I did on my Captivate. In fact, with a HSUPA enabled modem I could get faster upload/download speeds that I can on the Atrix. That seems to imply that there's a hardware throttle in place on the Atrix.
I'm planning on returning mine on Tuesday, and probably waiting for the Samsung Infuse 4G to be released.

Why not Samsung Galaxy S2?
