More than likely January, from everything i've read. And there have been NO mentions of it being on sprint or specific carriers.

It is possible it could be a Jan launch but I personally doubt that. The fact Eric says Oct-Nov (when we will see IC and the Nexus phone) I don't see them waiting another two months to make it out to the public. Now for other carriers, that's a differ story. Let's hope they take this thing to every carrier that currently has a Nexus phone now on launch day or no more then a month at the longest if it does take time to share the launch for other carriers.

This rumor story alone has just made me hit the pause button on the Epic Touch 4G. I will only get the Epic Touch 4G if it takes a while for the next Nexus to come to other carriers (Sprint in my favor), then I will get the Nexus w/e they decide to call it once it shares the love to other carriers. I'm pretty sure it will. It's just the matter of when. I have to pick and choose which one I will use my upgrade on..
Rumor: Nexus Prime to be 8.8 mm thick, have curved screen, metal chassis | Android and Me

I wonder if this is a pre-production unit on wirefly? Maybe that is the reason why it doesn't have the Samsung branding on front and quadrant was having issues.

I like the look better with the logo on back, but I am happy either way.

Definitely thinking it is a pre-production unit. The back is exactly the same as the leaked photo from a while back. Also it doesn't have Galaxy S 2 on the back like at the Samsung Conference.

The old standard quadrant was developed for single core phone. So it's not surprising that it doesn't recognize dual core. I think that happens with other dual core phones too. It's still managing to get over 3000 like any SGS2, so I don't think the test unit has problem.

Unless it's coming out September 16th, I can't wait that long :p

If the next Nexus drops on Dec for Sprint, then I can wait. I been breezing through this year with no problems. No temptations to upgrade. But this is the first time this year that I'm really stuck between a rock and a hard place lol.

Where have you read that eric says oct-nov? Eric said in PASSING in an interview that Ice Cream Sandwich is "set to come out in oct or november" but has never mentioned the prime has he? If you have a link though, post it here.

Today I put my $50 down at the sprint store for the Epic 4g Touch. Nexus prime is RUMORED to really have beautiful specs - just the 1280x720 resolution makes me want it. That said, my evo 4g is starting to show its age due to market apps being poorly coded or chalk full of ads or bloatware. For me, waiting till January (my opinion on nexus prime release date) just can't happen.

When has Google launched the next version of Android and not the next version of the Nexus? It kind of goes hand in hand. It'll definitely be out this fall-holidays. Do you really expect an OS alone to be shown off and the actual phone to come out two or three months later? That's silly. Then no other phone will get ice cream before the new nexus anyways so previous ones would have to wait. For a January speculation of yours these leaks and rumors would need to die out soon. I couldn't imagine them going on until January.

This isn't Apple where they changed their game plan and show off ios 5 then launch their phone months later. The main product is always right after the installment of the interface if not the same day shortly after.

I heard the evo 3d was getting ICS in November. so perhaps in December it will start launching on more phones

We don't even know for sure that ICS is coming out in October or November. Where did you hear that HTC is coming out with an update to software that hasn't yet been released?

You can pretty much confirm it with that interview Eric had. He said Oct Nov.

I thought the reviewer said a newer version could not be installed on the phone, which is why I said maybe the test unit was pre-production and had a problem. Could have just needed a software update.

Not a big deal though.

He was talking about Smartbench 2011... not Quadrant Standard.

Again, real phone vs pixy fairy dust.

In my opinion, dont waste your time with that link. It's poison. Just enjoy the anticipation for the epic touch, and enjoy it when you get it.

This thread is for reviews and videos etc.

Yes I jumped the gun before they updated the article. Would of been nice

I wonder why the next segment of the wirefly review is not out yet. I need something new to look at to get my fix in. This will be an obsession until I get my own!

I know how you feel. I'm stuck using my old Samsung Moment that doesn't even connect to a charger well (its broken), cuz I sold my Epic for $250 (good offer and I only paid $200 for it new). So I'm actually suffering for this phone :)

I bet I'm suffering worse, Ive been stuck using an old blackberry! After having Android it is torture using blackberry!

Ouch, you win.

It feels so much like torture to me because of how well I had my Epic set up and running with the custom kernels and roms... the buyer got a nice phone :)

I think you are just NUTS to think that when the google chairman says in passing is really definitive. Is this what you're working from?

Eric Schmidt: Ice Cream Sandwich coming in October or November -- Engadget

To my knowledge this is the ONLY source for all this hype. I'm NOT saying it is untrue or wont ever happen, but this just reading a lot into a passing comment.

I think the focus should be on when Sprint will get the Nexus Prime. It is all but acknowledged that Verizon will have an exclusive on the phone when it is eventually introduced, whether that be October or January.

The real question is how long will that exclusivity last? I would imagine that Verizon will have the Prime for at least three months following introduction. So, at best, we would look to Sprint having the Prime in February.

There is always a better phone coming along. That's why I ordered the Epic 4G Touch.
