*Rezound ICS OTA is live Thread*

I'm going to jump on ICS this weekend also. I'm sick of waiting for Verizon. I haven't gone through the whole thread. Can somebody send me a link on how to get the link?

Stupid question, but when the directions say, "place the renamed file on the root of the sd Card", that means just drop it into the main directory of the sd card, right??

I just talked to a rep at HTC he said now the ICS OTA should be here the end of July. Can't beleive how long this is taking. He did verify that it is the same version as the leak version.

I think the update is ready to go and they're holding it back because it'd make the Rezound better than the Incredible 4G. They don't want to launch a new "flagship" phone when there's something more than 6 months older and cheaper that matches it feature for feature.

After reading about the Flash pull back that is coming and not having much confidence that V will send out the OTA before that happens, I took the plunge and loaded the RUU yesterday. My first impression was that Sense 3.6 seemed a bit choppy and unfortunately Launcher Pro isn't compatible with ICS so I loaded Apex and it seems OK so far. Neither Sense or Apex are as quick and smooth as GB was with Launcher Pro. Not as much wow factor performance wise as going from Froyo to GB was on the Incredible. The leak seems very stable and I have tried testing quite a few apps without finding any real problems. The new folders are very iphoney and that's seems kinda cheesy IMO. At first my phone would only connect to 3G which was never a problem before but today all is good and I'm getting 18 mb per second download and around 20 mb per second upload on 4G. Many of my older apps must have been ISC ready because they took on some of the ICS behaviors after reloading them. I do like that the internal memory and SD card are now named properly. I don't really like that the OK and Cancel buttons are reversed on all dialog boxes. I don't know if this is an d HTC thing or what but it just seems counter intuitive to change that at this point in the game. It's too early to tell if battery life will be affected one way or the other.
Those are some of my first impression of ICS on the Rezound. All in all it has been pretty positive.

I loaded the leak on Friday. Everything seems to work great except for one or two things. I backed up my files with SMS backup and restore, plus the Master Backup app. This should have backed up everything on my phone to the SD card. After I loaded the leak, I downloaded those two apps again and the restore files weren't there! I lost basically everything except my pictures and whatever google saves. BS.

Also, my 4G was screwy initially. I had to pull the SIM and replace it, then 4G worked fine.

Lastly, my bluetooth doesn't seem to be working very well in my car. It used to be automatic as soon as I turned on the car, it would connect for the phone function and for BT music streaming. I don't think either will work now, it just won't find my phone for some reason. Still have to fool with it, but it's getting frustrating.

On my 3rd day in with the ICS RUU and I just had my first freeze up and had to pull the battery. Granted I was doing some file management using Solid Explorer and there was an app update happening at the same time but I never experienced a freeze on GB doing much more that using two processes. Hoping that this isn't a sign of things to come...

I've jawed back and forth with Verizon about this. They say it's on HTC and they'll release it when they're ready, not them...to which I cry foul.

Regardless of the reason or who's at fault, we're definitely no longer in "early 2012", as the Rezound press release said.

I haven't upgraded to ICS and my phone is totally stock. But for some reason, all of a sudden, my BT doesn't work either. It may (or may not) connect for the music streaming, but it refuses to connect the phone part. Just an FYI. In case it's not really ICS, but something else.

Let's put it this way: If it was not a Verizon-branded phone, and the Rezound was really the Desire C, HTC would be free to work it as they saw fit. As both the hardware manufacturer and Sense developer, they would understand completely how it worked. Any software problems are due to Verizon's addition of features and their freedom to dictate what they wanted from the ADR6425LVW. He'll, where does the "VW" suffix come from, or the red "Z" in ReZound? I blame Verizon for the delay.

If Verizon is going to use a high-end platform as a marketing device, I believe they should be held accountable (even more so than HTC) for the device and the problems it has. I'm almost convinced that VZW had a role in HTC's licensing of Beats Audio... It sounds more plausible than HTC making a weird decision like that. If this was 2006, the combo might have been a million-dollar match made in heaven. With Verizon's tardy track record, it sounds more like slow-roasted bean counter.
