*Rezound ICS OTA is live Thread*

Whatever technical or marketing issues may exist for Sense 4 being missing, I want to chime in that you wouldn't want it the way HTC delivers it. As I am practically the HTC Poster Boy for those that don't know me, that's saying a lot, I promise.

I'll take it from you. I know some of those words you used.

So, should I talk to HTC Devs about my modular Sense 5 ideas? I love Sense as a launcher. I just don't think it should be completely forced on everyone who likes HTC's hardware. It should be about options, not their opinion of what a phone should look like on the screen.

I share the dream. Sell them like cars. Give me a stripped EX model and let me choose the LX package as an add on. Do a good job, I would pay extra for the LX model.

I'd like to see an HTC Nexus as an alternative. :)

I Just got this message from HTC on facebook...

ME: My HTC experience...waited over a year for the Incredible to come out after you announced it..waited almost a year for the Inc4G to come out. Now i find myself waiting possibly a year or more for the Rezound to get ICS...at least you guys are consistant.

here is the answer I got from them today when I emailed support

This the reply I got from HTC to a Facebook post I made regarding this issue.

Hi, David. The Rezound is still set to receive ICS. The updates are still rolling out right now. Our goal is to make sure that an upgrade provides an equal or improved customer experience and that means a high standard of quality for hardwa...re compatibility, adapting device or carrier specific customizations, testing by HTC and partners, addressing device hardware constraints, and many other factors. When we have the release ready, we'll be sure to share more information. Thanks for remaining so patient.

I finally did it after waiting 6 months I finally installed the leak. My 4g would drop when ever I opened a app. Did a hard reset cleaned the sim etc... Nothing worked. Updating to the ICS leak did! I was getting sick of only having 3G.

I also posted my disappointment on Verizon's Facebook page and did not get a response. No surprise there.

bastards!!:p

Like I said, they could easily be full of it. But hey, at least we are getting to the point where people are possibly lying about it.

Pics or it didn't happen.

If people were getting some pushed, I would hope to GOD that someone caught it and captured the download RUU (or whatever they do to make a PH98IMG.zip file) to share. XDA is all over that. Speaking of which, it's time I go over there and see what's up for myself!

Well i guess that is some sort of improvement, lol

Until VZW updates the update PDF it just plain isn't happening IMO. Once they do that we will see something within a week.....

I have tried for the past two hours to go to the update server. It takes quite a while and finally returns with a message that the server isn't available. FWIW.

Seems like HTC has restarted the clock...the standard answer now is :

What is the overall timeline of Android 4.0 updates?
The majority of devices will receive upgrades in June and July 2012 and we expect to finish upgrades in August 2012 for all announced devices.

(Edit: Just saw Wounded's post. Yeah that's the pic from this thread.)

Nobody's called me by my last name since AOL... :D

I tried posting pics of real screenshots of my .10 leak software info to compare. I can easily use PicSay Pro to make mine look just like that one. In fact, I did, and you might not be able to tell with an external camera.

Why do I insist on being so skeptical and cynical? Short answer: Because I'm bored.

I'm following them to see what else happens. I want to compare it to .10 leak and see if VZW crippled anything. Considering the FCC ruling about the whole hotspot thing, who knows... maybe they unlocked that.

Has anyone tried clearing the Google Services Framework data and/or cache to "force" the OTA?

Yeah I just read up on that and have been trying it myself. I did it over and over again, because many people in both a Nexus forum and a Xoom forum said it took several attempts. Eventually I got to the point where I clicked "Check New" and it would bring up the message that it was checking, but never actually tell me "No new software update available."

This excited me, so I pressed "Check New" again, and this time it wouldn't do anything. I waited a while and then eventually rebooted the phone. When it finished powering up, when I unlocked the screen it popped up with a "No new update available" dialog. Very strange. The strange behavior definitely got my hopes up, but they were quickly dashed.

Well, only 2 more hours until we can pull the update for ourselves (according to that "leaked" document that has been photoshopped a dozen times over). :D

I'm not stressing it, but I would like to compare this alleged .12 update to the .10 leak. I still have dev options in my settings and a few other little weirdities. BTW, what exactly did you lose when you cleared GSF data and cache? Everything, like a wipe?
