Ridiculous Battery, I'm not even joking

Just finished calibrating my phone again with the 8hrs plug on, unplug, turn off plug 1hr, unplug 2min plug 1 hr.

currently 15min and my battery is at 88%, dropped from 100-88
Android System 58%
Display 16%
Cell Standby 13%
Wifi 10%
Phone idle 3%

Just checked mail, no browsing whatsoever. Also display brightness is 40%.
I'm not sure if its faulty battery because if it is, both my batteries are faulty then.
I have the original HTC Battery and bought a Nexus one battery as well
 
bloody hell, i know mine was bad to start with ( about 7hours tops ) but im now on76% and its been on foooooor 5hrs 5min with wifi on all day, bif of facebooking, general browsing.

Android System 26%
Call Standby 23%
WiFi 23%
Phone idle 19%
Display 7%
Dolphin Browser Mini 2%


Although!

That been said, Its only actually been awake for 2hrs and 31min.

Iv just said this in another thread, Download Spare parts and look at partial wake usage.

Unrevoked will root your phone in about two minutes and you only have to click one thing. It's almost 100% fool proof :P
 
i suggest you do not root the phone as these forum users are saying until you find out if it is a phone/battery problem as rooting does void warranty and unrooting it can be a task for someone who is afraid of rooting the phone

i agree with this

however danfrance was referring to a soft root app from the market that is purely an apk and is not permanent
 
Indeed. But I must reitterate my stance, all this setCPU malarky will help address the symptoms but it is not helping the cause.

Thanks! I think i will try it out! Will it void my warranty or the ability for my desire to update to 2.3 through HTC? Changing Roms seem to be very confusing as I am still a noob in Android. The one click root in Visionary seems to make sense to me. I don't mind re-rooting after every boot as well.
 
it wont void warranty as its just a app. it doesn't change anything permanently and the moment its uninstalled the moment root goes

Thanks! Just temprooted my phone and got SetCPU!! I rebooted my phone and I still have the Superuser icon on my applications drawer though. Is it still suppose to have it or am i rebooting it wrong? I just turned off my phone and turned it back on...am i suppose to do a battery pull?
 
HELLO!!!! 58% Android System!!!

Something is running constantly - use the testing app (or Spare Parts) and find the app with high Partial Wake usage.
