Ringke case for the thunderbolt

McLabia

Android Expert
So, I got my case today, and I can say this. This thing has a couple of features that you dont see anywhere else. I like the fit as well as the the look.

So Im guessing I wasnt the only one contacted by them, but Im sure that I wont be the last. I was expecting something cheaply made and nothing near this quality.

Two biggest things that I like about this case are as follows.

They have aux port plugs. I remember when phones actually came with these. My LG enV3 had one, but my Bolt doesnt. These are usefull and sit almost flush with the case without covering the mic hole. Great feature and they come in packs of two.

The other thing I really like about this case is how it was designed. Ive read a couple threads about people complaining about light leaks on the bottom and dust getting into the the phone from the bottom. These guys have brought up the bottom of the case so that it covers the break on the bottom. Thus eliminating dust being pushed in while it sits in your pocket.

The materials that this case is made from I like a lot better than my Seidio to be honest. It doesnt feel slippery or too smooth. It has a bit of a rough finish to it and that leaves you feeling less like its going to slip from your hand and crack. Coming from someone thats already had to have the digitizer replaced, thats a huge bonus.

I like it and overall, this case gets two thumbs up. The price is reasonable as well which is always good. For 20 bucks you can get a good combo deal from them. Even if you dont pick up one of their cases, the plugs alone are worth purchasing.

It honestly doesn't look much different than the Seidio case, but after a certain point it's mostly personal preference. Please let us know how it does over the long run!

Its totally different. Its not a two piece and its flexible not hard. I may actually just end up selling my seidio to be honest.

i don't understand the part about "aux port plug" like something that prevents dirt from getting in the headphone jack???

hey could you please make those pics any bigger? I'm having trouble seeing em.

Ill give two answers to this one.

A: If youre being serious, theres a little bar across the top of them that if you click, they will get larger.

B: If youre just being a douche, well, you can blow me. :D

Yeah, theyre little plugs that are the same material that the case is made out of, just plugs up the headphone jack.

Nice review. I'm waiting for my case to arrive and am kind of excited after reading this. I recently got a Seidio Active sent to me (thanks BlueJD :)) and while I really like the case and holster a lot, I hate how easily the inner layer picks up and holds lint, dust and everything else it can get a hold of. Is this case similar in that it attracts debris?

Ive had this thing in and out of my pocket all day, and when Im at work, there has a tendency to be a good amount of dust. If youve ever worked in a grocery store, you know what Im talking about lol. It looks clean, my hands were really dirty for a little bit from dust, I felt it kinda rub off on the case when I was taking a picture and once my hands were clean, the back felt like it was still brand new. I have the Seidio Innocase II Surface Case , and to be honest, Im thinking about selling it. lol. 15+shipping :-P

Edit: Oh, I love the shape of this. Youll see at the bottom of the case why. This thing covers up where HTC screwed up. As long as it doesnt get stretched out, youll never have a dust problem.

However the elasticity of this makes me wonder long term. I have some 1500 mah batteries coming in, and thatll be part of the long term stress test honestly. I plan on not giving a frack about whats eating my battery life. lol.

C: Sarcasm/Joking :D

Thanks for fixing them. I was even having trouble looking at them on my 22" WS

Got mine today (kiwi green) and it is NOTHING like a Seidio case.. I have the Surface and Active X (agree about the X and all the crap that sticks to it) But this case seems like a good en.. I do wonder about the long term on/off effect. But their website does recommend charging the phone as opposed to removing the case for a batt swap as it says it would have a negative effect on the fit eventually.. Take that as either admitting it will do it, or covering their a@@ in case it does happen.. But so far nothing seems to want to stick to it.. But i did have to write them as i didn't get my plugs..

I offered to buy them when I emailed them about it. lol. I dont think they were sending them out with em. I could be wrong though. As far as the elasticity of the case, just like anything else, it WILL wear out. Everything has its limits. Ive been taking it off and puttin it back on a lot today and not seen the slightest bit of stretch.

Ok, its official. Siedio case for sale and ill throw in a 1500 mah battery new in the package for twenty plus shipping. Got pics in my for sale thread.

I recieved mine yesterday (Black version) and seems to have a nice rough fill to it. Not rough like sandpaper but a texture you can feel. Not like other cases that has that sticky rubbery feel. All the openings line up good and the case is easy to clean.

I have never owned I guess you call them gel cases. So I can slide the sides out easly. Is this normal? I do like the case over my hard case I bought from best buy. If one suggestion I could make would be make it a lil more snugger fit?

Over all the case seems great and will update after I had it awhile. Tanks to the company for sending the free case out to us. I think they have a good product. Wish I had the aux port plug. If I keep I might buy it. Also do they have or making a usb port plug to?

Mine was shipped yesterday, hoping to receive it tomorrow or Thursday. I wonder how many people they pm'd and shipped these cases to? Also, it seems like people aren't getting the plugs that McLabia got? What's the deal with that?

@Worm: When I emailed them, I specifically asked them how much the plugs were because I intended on purchasing them. lol. I just got lucky I think is all. Im guessing they probably sent out maybe 50-100 of them. To be honest, it makes sense. All they ask you to do is review them. Its good advertising to let the product speak for itself. When you have confidence in a product, this is a great way to start selling it.

@Jedi: Hmm, mines as snug as it gets and I take it off atleast twice a day for battery swaps. The plugs for these are like a buck fifty for two. I too wish they made the USB plug ones. They should also make an extended case for them.

I completely agree, I was just wondering how many they actually gave out. AFA the plugs I hope I get lucky and they include them when I get mine :) Will post my thoughts in here when I receive it

If not, pm me your addy and Ill send you out one of the extras. They sent me three.

I did receive it yesterday and I'm pretty impressed with it. Ill post my thoughts on it later when I get home from work. It didn't come with the plugs btw.

I received my Ringke case for my TB yesterday and I'm pretty impressed with it. When I checked out the website a couple weeks ago and saw this was a "jelly case" I was thinking it would be like every other jelly case..a piece of crap that gets covered in anything it touches. This case is COMPLETELY different! It feels like a combination of a hard and jelly case, very smooth, but it has some bend. It's been in my suit jacket pocket all afternoon and not one piece of dust, lint or anything is on it plus it's slides in and out smoothly with no resistance.. That's pretty impressive if you ask me. It feels like no case I've ever felt before. The material feels so good in your hand I find myself constantly picking up my phone and admiring the case.

As Mclabia mentioned, I think one of the nicest features of this case is the lip that covers the gap under the screen that HTC decided to leave open. One other thing I thought was cool and definitely gives them extra points in my book was a small request I made which I thought would fall on deaf ears. When I first got the PM asking if I'd like to test a new case I went to the website and immediately fell in love with the maroon case. In my email, I asked if it was possible could you please send me the maroon case (supposed to be random color for everyone) I fully expected to get a random color, but they sent me the maroon case...and it's sexy! I wish I could take pics, but my camera is out of commission at the moment.

This is my third TB case and it has quickly become my favorite. The look, feel and way it almost repels lint and dust is amazing for a $20 case. If I had to point out a negative it would be that over time the case will more than likely lose it's form and will become loose. I've taken the case on and off a few times already and I've noticed the sides aren't a tight as they were. That being said, this wouldn't stop me from buying one because the positives certainly out weigh this "negative". I like it so much I'm thinking of ordering a black one as a back up or just to switch between.

If you're looking for a new case or just want something new and cool you need to check these out.

YEah worm I work in a powder coating plant and I was amazed at how the case doesnt attract the powder to it. This powder gets all over everything. I have more powder on my screen ( I do have a screen protector on so dont get nervous lol) than this case. WHat powder it does have on wipes off with a dry cloth. Lint nothing stays on this case. I stopped using my hard case all together and just use this one.

I agree the maroon one is very sexy. I never asked if they could send that color. As they said random and didnt want to sound demanding as they was giving us a free case.

This is a great product and I recommend it to everyone looking for a jelly case.
