Help Ringtone won't change

I have a Optimus LG Android. I can't change the Ringtone. I have it set for one sound and yet it keeps playing one that isn't even selected. What can I do?

I have the Optimus S LG Sprint phone. I change in the settings the notification but as soon as I get a Text it is the same one before I changed it.. Can you help please?

If you set a custom ringtone in the messaging app it will override the default. open the messaging app and press menu>settings and scroll all the way to the bottom and see if you have one set there. if you want all notification sounds to be the same, set this to default and then go to a home screen and press menu>settings>sound>notification ringtone and chose what you want there.

Do you have a "Settings > Sounds > Notification Ringtones" option? do you see a list of stock sounds avaialble for notifications?

Next when you go to Messaging Settings , is Notification Ringtone checked?

I can't get my settings to show my downloaded ring tones...So that I can change them for Text notification....But it isn't showing up just showing Ringtone settings..

Install Ringdroid, load an mp3 and save a clip as a Notification. Then go to yoir settimgs tonseenif what youve saved shows up.

Lastly, if you have Estromgs File Explorer, do a search on the name of the same newly created notification so to see the folder path.

This will be the folder path you want to place custom notifications.

I have set different notification sounds for different apps...email, text, facebook, etc. Whatever the last one I set is now becomes the default and it is the only sound that notifies...same sound for all. the default overrides each individual setting that I made. It is driving me crazy...BTW I have a motorla razzr maxx.
