Root RIP Fission for GB

That's some pretty good speculation there :p

I'm inclined to believe that it's possible that the Targa got scrapped because Moto may in fact be producing the next Nexus phone, and most likely will use a lot of the tech they were planning for the Targa on the next Nexus device. But only time will tell. If Moto makes it, that thing better be unlockable

I think it will be. It would also fit in with their timetable of unlocking things later this year "where carriers allow". Who knows though.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news:

would rather spend my time doing real dev work instead of hacking so I am officially stopping work on DX/D2/D2G. Will be back when/if bootloaders get unlocked. Only locked device I am going to be working on is the M2. Moving on to HTC Inspire 4G and Atrix for now to do real dev. Might try 2nd init when other projects are complete...Thanks Everyone!!!

Well it looks as if I am sticking with CM7 for the long haul now. Was looking forward to seeing what Fission would be like on Gingerbread.

yeah its a shame, that he would be putting the time for the DX and then just stop....

I guess (from reading his tweets) that he wanted it to be easy work, but it requires a bit more work than he wanted and doesn't want to put in the effort. He's probably a busy guy, so it's understandable I suppose.

Anyway, big disappointment, oh well

im sure he is a busy guy when he comes home from work, family?, kids? all possibilities, but i didnt know making a rom for a phone is considered easy work, if that were the case im going to make one :p

Wish that he would have stuck with it. Bummer. Guess all I have to look forward to is a new phone now.

^ sure does seem to be the only avenue to continue the fun doesn't it. Tomorrow is the DXs official launch anniversary, which make one more year of lockdown seem like an eternity. I guess the only way around it is to fork over full price on something different and move on. Back in the day when I sported a Razr I didnt much care that a phone was just a phone. My Curve was when I took my first crack at phone hackery and now I just cant see life without a smartphone to mess with everyday.

agreed, im thinking samsung, or LG, if LG phones turn out to be great which i bet they will eventually, i just dont like a HTC battery life isnt on par with the rest, and their screens are easily damaged
