Help Rollback from ICS?

OK.... I bit the bullit and did a go back to HC. I bricked it at first but with help from others, including Mrhelper, I have a tablet that is working the way it was intended. I'm back to 3.2.1. It's not easy but well worth the trouble. There were lots of nice features on ICS I will miss but untill they fix the bugs I'll stick with 3.2.1.
After all the posts I have read today(Including yours), I'm somewhere between sending my tab in to acer (It's still under warranty) and attempting to go back to HC (have not rooted a device before, but tech savey). I really like ICS, and unlike some others, everything seems to work but the rotation. But man that's just about a deal breaker as i have a lot of tech manuals on my pad and would rather view them in portrait mode.
Whatever i decide to do I really don't want to lose my browser bookmarks. Trying to find them in dual file manager. Have not succeeded yet. Do they get backed up like mail and contacts to google.

If the issue for you is mostly about changing the screen orientation, there are ways to do that manually. There are a few apps you can use to select any orientation you prefer. The sensor problem in ICS does not prevent apps from changing the screen orientation.

This one should work for you because of the apparent design: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.fameit.rotate&hl=en.

It won't fix the automatic rotation, but you can at least rotate manually, which may be better than nothing.

I installed and tested while my tablet sensors were in the nonfunctional state. When you tap the shortcut, it brings up a menu. Just select portrait or landscape as needed.

I suggest that you keep the screen orientation switch on the locked position to prevent performance problems caused by the continuous sensor service error logging.

Update: I looked at some of the other features after posting. You can also set the orientation you want to persist for specific apps. That may be useful also.

Did the rollback to HC but found it didn't work nearly as efficiently as I had recalled. My map program was continuasly locking up and other things I hadn't remembered. So I did the reinstall of ICS. What a surprise! It was vertually the same as HC unlike the origonal ICS. And it now works flawlessly. Other than the problem I was having with the internal drive filling up. But with Mrhelpers guidence I was able to get around that. I rooted it and I can now delete the files I couldn't get to before. So I am a happy camper once again.
