Root [Rom][1-2-12]GingerSteem Rom 1.0 w/ Blitzkrieg Kernel

Does anybody know the name of the stock weather app? Could be WeatherWidget.apk and .odex? Would like to install that app in this ROM.
 
Is there a way for me to get the Swype that came with the esteem, i would also like to change the battery icon back to stock, is their any way for me to do this thanks. If anyone could post the stock Swype apk I would really appreciate it. Instructions on changing battery icon would also be nice.
 
I am experiencing the same issue with battery drain. Wonder if PG's Plague oc kernel
installed over gingersteem rom will remedy problem? any ideas? and how exactly do you install oc kernel? update.zip or install zip? I've been working on my thrive tablet rooted and dalepl's modded rom and the green custom rom flashed over w/placque oc kernel. Honeycomb 3.2.1. anyways I want to make sure the procedure is the same as with the tablet and don't brick my phone.

It's definitely worth a try! Install PG's kernel just the same as the rom.

How did you download it? i tried downloading first over 4g and it hung at lg screen (was anxious and at work).. came home, downloaded over wifi to laptop and copied over to external sd, retried and it worked perfect.. you may have just got a bad download..

Internal SD i'm assuming would work just the ssame..

I experience a considerate amount of battery drain compared to stock. Never used battery saving apps or anything in my tests, but the difference is noticeable.

Other than that, the rom is smooth and awesome, thank you!!!

Anybody got any tips on the battery drains?
 
Seems as if I get better battery with this ROM. It could be because the kernel is set to 1.5ghz by default. Pgs kernel was at 1ghz default.
 
Anyone having problems with wifi not connecting? tried changing kernels that didn't help. Only other thing is hdmi not working which has been pointed out.
other than that great rom for sure. Thanks everyone that helped.

Edit: Well downloaded wifi manager from the market and I got wifi to work just fine. Hmm least its working lol.
 
Uhm. Not sure but I'm getting great battery life (with the extended). Its just that whenever I enable 4g data the battery drains 3x the amount ....;(
 
This ROM is sick, nice work. Boot up, Lock Screen, and Clock are awesome. Home screen seems like taking a step back to Android 2.2, but whatever.

Battery is draining, but its because I cant put my phone down :D

I installed PG's Plague o/c kernel over MT's rom and it has been nearly 20 hrs. now, seems like improvement on battery life, yet early to be sure how well because I have not been consistent using the phone. basically sporadic use calls,surfing,and texting. This rom is fun very customizeable, on every side.

if you want to change the battery icon you can use the UOT kitchen website. They have the stock rom on the site with the percentage, if you prefer not to have the percentage you can disable it in the UOT kitchen

i cant help you with swipe, i hate that keyboard and its always the first app i delete off my phone, i have become quite fond of thumb keyboard (i use standard layout, i don't use the thumb layout since that sucks).
 
I flashed last night...and first thing it did was boot over and over..spent my morning re-flashing and got it a bit more stable..but it still is having a fit and re-boots everytime i unplug the charger and sometimes nothing triggers it..just freezes, re-boots, loads, back to normal...but then it happens again

When it boots use SetCPU to lower the overclock. Some devices handle overclocking different than others.

Yeah. I also had issues with the swype beta. What I did was use root explorer to delete the swype apk from /system/apps. And then I uninstalled the swype installer. Then I rebooted phone. (Make sure you select another input method before rebooting of course).
Then I went to the swype website on my phone and downloaded the beta from there and went through the setup. That seems to have worked and I'vve been using it since yesterday with out any issues and no fc problems.
 
Can you please tell us what app you are using to change your icons on the notification bar and how to do it. I know a lot of people are wanting to know. Thank you.

k go to ur rom toolbox go to interface and choose themes not theme chooser its epic blue and download and install its goona ask to reboot or quick boot reboot is better if u wanna changed ur notifications go to icon changer just choose the one u want u should b good to go after that its pretty easy
