Root [ROM 2.1] Bugless Beast (ERE25 Base)

Pete said he removed Amazon MP3 and if you want it to download and then install with astro....where can I download it from?
THanks!

When I installed v.03 from the nandroid backup it was installed. I uninstalled it through manage applications. Maybe it's there on yours too. It was no longer "Amazon MP3 Store" just "MP3 Store" so try looking in the M's of your apps.

megaupload download com.amazon.mp3.apk

Wow, I've been bashing Pete's new ROMs this whole time because everything I've tried past 0.7.5 was just terrible in comparison, but this is a real game-changer. It seems MORE responsive than the rest of his ROMs even after I enable Live Wallpapers! I think this is a keeper. All it's missing is the Smoked Glass theme.

Has anyone released a MM skin for this yet? I tried forcing a 2.0.1 skin onto this and it made everything look like crap :D

I'm still running BB 0.7.6 since I haven't had any issues with it. I'm on the verge of getting Pete's newest 2.1 ROM since it's made for the Droid, but just want to confirm I'm not going to lose any functionality after I try it out. All this talk of losing (or waiting for) your purchased/protected apps is already deterring me from getting it. That and losing my smoked glass theme. What other little annoyances are there? If I can get my 1.1 GHz OC back and my smoked glass theme with it, I'll definitely switch.

If you want the smoked glass theme you should go with Chevys Simply Stunning. Its based on the same ere25

I'm using Chevy's SS 2.1 / V2.0.0 ERE2.5 with no problems. I installed patch.zip right after I did the nandroid restore and by the time I got to the market app my apps... paid and free were listed.

Based on what I was reading over at alldroid people are moving towards the 1.1 kernel because it's seeming to be a bit more stable and reduces voltage considerably which means cooler cpu running. Once I pushed that kernel onto the ROM everything fell into place.... smooth.. nice and cool.... and everything works.... including temp mon. And yes... am enjoying live wallpapers, wireless tether, setcpu profiles are active and rolling.... and of course the rich smoked glass themes edited by Chevy...

That's exactly what I wanted to hear. Thanks a lot for that assurance ;). I'm gonna install it later on now.

So after I do a full wipe and install the SSv2.0.0.zip, I can restore the data from my 2.0.1 nandroid backup and keep all my settings and stuff, right?

Thanks a lot!

Someone at alldroid did make a portion of the smoked glass theme for this. It is post number 75-76 in the ROM thread at alldroid..It changes the notification bar to smoked glass theme...

Chevy's links to his kernals aren't working for me.

Does anyone have the latest they can attach? 4shared just doesn't load.

My first FC happened today with Home. I hit the home button in landscape mode. Otherwise, buttery smooth.

Should I be able to restore my data after installing the SS 2.0.0? I got it up and running fine with the market patched and working. So I went to restore my data from my 2.0.1 backup and my phone got stuck in a boot loop so I had to do a battery pull and restore the whole phone, so I'm back to BB 0.7.6 now. I really don't want to DL all my apps and set all my preferences in them again :(. Is it possible to keep all my apps and settings without manually doing it all again?

Thanks again for all the help!

No... it says specifically on in his post on alldroid, link below, that you have to wipe everything when going from 2.0.1 to his 2.1 ROMs... it sounds like you did that but I dont think you can restore the data after... the ROMs are just two different. Before I loaded Chevy's SS I dropcaped each screen before I loaded SS that way at least I had a visual reference when I was creating my theme for SS 2.1. Once you do it a few times it goes fast.... first thing I do once I get the ROM going, and do all the update patches, is go right to market and downlaod all my apps and install them, make sure you setup you wifi first..this will go much faster. From there I setup all my screens based on my drocap pics from the previous ROM... when it's all sai and done it takes be about an extra 30 minutes.... and because you did a fresh install the system likes it much more..... the result... less app and os problems. The only issue I had was with Temp Mon... but once I switched to the 1.1v2 kernel that Chevy is testing that got fixed... didn't even have to re-install the app. One you have everything setup and running just the way you want it create a nandroid archive and copy to your computer... and leave a copy on your phone.... this way if you have to restore quickly you can.. Also always remember to do an advanced nandroid backup... and select everything... this will create a full image... simple only does partial.

[2.1 ROM - 1.25Ghz] SS MAJOR Beta ERE25 Build - (3/1/2010)

I've gone from 2.01 to 2.1 and did a Titanium restore of all my apps and data (I did do a full wipe before the install) and had no problems with both Pete's and Ultimate. All my apps seemed to run fine and did not have to be reconfigured.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to avoid doing.. though I guess from a compatibility and stability standpoint, that would be the better route to go. I'm also having issues with Live wallpaper working on SS 2.0.0 too. Every time I set a Live wallpaper, my phone locks and restarts. Is this a known issue on this ROM too? Also, I guess they aren't supposed to be interactive either? I figured since this was Droids native 2.1 ROM, they'd be able to make them interactive this time around.. I guess not though (still on the 2.0.1 launcher though, right?).

Not a cadet, just a Sergeant stationed here as a local computer/network admin for my department :). Cool to see someone somewhat nearby.. though you're about an hour and a half away from me.

Sweet, I'll try this out since I'm too much of a lazy bastard to do Droidsuks's method above.

Thanks, guys!

once i loaded up Chevy's 1.1 kernel.... live wallpapers worked fine. I find that there's no real easy to get a 2.1 rom working perfectly.... at this point, although they've come a long way, there is still some playing to get them working the way we want them. Although once in a while one just falls into place perfectly.. :)

Keep warm up there sgt. ;)

quick question about this rom

ther kernels that were used on other roms cant be used on the ere25 builds?..and the only kernel out for ere25 is the chevy one?
