Download the pre7 or pre8 from here: Downloads - android-wifi-tether - Project Hosting on Google Code

Use root explorer or another files explorer to install the .apk. If you drop it in your downloads folder on your SD card you'll always have it there... so when you go from rom to rom you can easily just install it again.

... advise: I know pre7 works... I use it all the time. Not sure about pre8... know reason why it wouldn't I guess... just haven't used it.

If you still have problems try another kernel... i'm using adamz lv 1.2 and it does everything i want it... including wifie tether.

Switched from .07 to .08 yesterday and I've had a few issues and reverted back to .07 to wait and see if it was just me or if anyone else has these issues, but I'm not having any with .07.

1) Google Maps would not open until I removed all updates, before removing kept force closing.

2) Live Wallpaper freezes and closes, reverts back to stock wallpaper.

3) After charging overnight desktop Icons disappeared until reboot was accomplished.

I haven't had any issues with Google Maps or Live Wallpapers since moving to version .8 or any icons disappearing yet. Angry Warrior, what kernel are you using?

Is anyone having a market issue? Since I did a Nandroid to .7 and now update.zip to .8, on both I have had the market not list all my downloaded apps. Thus, I'm never prompted to update. I've been signed in to Gmail, but I wonder if there's some syncing problem? I backed up and reinstalled all apps with Astro. Any thoughts?

That's supposed to happen. The only way to backup your apps and get the Market to recognize them again is if you download Titanium Backup and then donate $4

i did a wipe then installed BBv.8 and did a nandroid data restore and all my apps came back. market is fine and they update as well.

Huh... maybe I should try this. I dunno though, I don't like frankensteining pieces of different things together, it makes me feel uneasy. Like how I always use the Nandroid even when I'm upgrading, say, from 0.7 to 0.8. It's just a habit carried over from my PC, where I insist on a fresh install of a new OS to make sure nothing screwy (or screwier than usual, rather) happens.

Hey guys,

So I installed this last night and I've noticed a couple of things and was wondering if anyone else has the same issues.

I'm running ChevyNo1's Kernal.

First, whenever charging my phone, it will only go up to 70% charged. No matter how long I charge it for, it does not go above that.

Secondly, I feel like the touch sensor is incredibly inaccurate after installing this rom. I'll try to pull the notification bar down and it will press a button somewhere else on the screen. In Twidroid, I'll scross down and the result will be scrolling up. This doesn't happen all the time but when it does, it's incredibly annoying.

Should I try Adamz's kernal? Is his kernal a update.zip process or is it something different?

I'm not seeing those issue and I'm on AdamZ's kernel. It can't hurt to try a different kernel. AdamZ's kernels install as a ROM tgz file and it gives you a choice during install to which kernel to load, voltage and speed wise.

Alright thanks, I'll give that a try. Do I install the tgz file that same way I would an update.zip or is there a different method.

Also, my phone charged to 100% last night when plugged directly into the wall. I'm not sure if that 70% charge was because I was plugged into my laptop, I'll try again later tonight.

Oh and one last bug I noticed, my app icons disappear...a lot. I have to restart the phone to get them back, anyone else have this problem?

You install them by going to Install in SPR and then hitting Install ROM and picking the rom.tgz. It has to be in the root of your SD card!

Also, if you've been doing update.zip between ROMs, you might want to do a Nandroid. Update.zip can leave behind a mess.

I finally got v0.8 up and running on my phone. I first tried to install Chevy's 10 slot 1.1Ghz kernel and it sent my phone into a boot loop, just like last time when I was installing v0.5. Retried with the 5 slot 1.1Ghz and everything worked perfectly. I've got 5 screens with lots of widgets, live wallpaper running and I'm at 1.1Ghz running smooth as ever. Definitely the best I've seen thus far. No problems whatsoever. Battery life seems to have improved as well. With my mild use yesterday and a few phone convos, I was at 70% from 8am to 10pm. Plus I was only losing 10% battery overnight without charging, as opposed to almost 40% before.

Give Helix Launcher a shot. It's really sped my screen scrolling up a notch. No noticeable difference in benchmark tests either. It's a pretty sweet launcher (you can get up to 7 screens if need be). Also, it's funny when I hear all these people with problems with the higher Ghz kernels. I guess I've been lucky with no issues running Chevy's 5 slot 1.2Ghz.

Hey guys..How do I go about installing/updating to the new version 0.8 of bugless beast? I have the previous version, But am kind of unclear on how to update without data loss, Can I simply just DL the 0.8 file and restart/install it? Any kind of direction or link to an actual tutorial would be helpful..I'm still a noob to root/roms and just wanna make sure I do things right...thanks..

In the http://alldroid.org/threads/16197-Bugless-Beast-V0.8-ESE53-STABLE it says "Do not use if coming from the 2.0.1 rom...Why is that?, How can I tell if I'm using the 2.0.1 rom, And if I am using it, What's the proper way I should install/update to version 0.8? And how do you make sure your signed into your google account and why?...

Just did a nandroid backup by restarting the phone while holding the x key, Can I reboot, mount my phone, and replace the update file with the new one, and install it? or is there something else I should be doing first?

trying to follow instructions but when I get to the dd if=/sdcard/flash_image of=/system/bin/flash_image part it says cannot open for read no such file or directory!?.. GOD, I'm getting frustrated!

OMFG **** This, I should of never ******* rooted my ******* phone to begin with..I have absolutely NO clue what I'm doing!..And now my phone keeps force closing every 20 ******* seconds, And doing random reboots every time I unplug my phone from my computer..
Word to the wise future rooters, DO NOT ROOT YOUR PHONE AND USE ROMS UNLESS YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE DOING, OR HAVE A BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT TO DO, OR UNDERSTAND THE LINGO!.......
<----currently banging head on keyboard................

I put .8 on last night...cool.
Just wondering, how do I get Amazon MP3 back (it's not in the market). I guess I'm in the minority, but I kind of like that app.

You are right - read and learn before you take the plunge. Now, for your problem. Do a clean install of the ROM of your choice. Your paid apps will be back in the market (or if you can (sounds like the system is currently too unstable) do a backup (Titanium) first. Have your rom of choice in position on your sd, do a data wipe and then install.

Need a little help...I downloaded BB .8 last night along with Chevy's 10-step 1.2, and everything is humming along beautifully....love this!

But....what happened to the Alarm Clock? It's not in this ROM, and I overslept this morning. Don't know if it was because the alarm clock didn't go off, or because the Allman Brothers were SO AWESOME last night!!

Is anyone else surprised that an update hasn't been out beyond 0.8? Pete used to throw them out nearly daily. Maybe he's on some vacation?

Edit: I wonder if he's waiting for the OTA update to see if there's anything worthwhile to grab from the different baseband?

Edit: Just got a tweet from Pete, and he is working on a new ROM and "learning things".

Just noticed the same thing (though I don't use the alarm clock). He doesn't list it in the "removed" section though. Suppose there's always a 3rd party app you can dl.

Isn't the alarm in 2.1 part of the regular clock? When I click on clock, I see all the alarm settings.
