Root [ROM] AOSP BURNTH3ORy

getting it set up. had com.android.settings FCs and had to do a full wipe.

am a little bummed that the trasnparent notification pull down is now just black :(

other than that, first impressions are good...seems as smooth as the others :D

Bummed? I hate transparent things on my phone, even more so when they are things like XDA apps or the market, my wallpaper changes every time I lock my phone and some of them are not good for reading texts above them. Glad to hear everything else is smooth and running well for you.

I'm not a fan of anything but the notification pulldown being transparent. I'm also not a fan of the black gmail, which this has. I'm going to have to pull the CM7 gmail or something because it irritates the hell out of me

edit: restoring my backup of theory. I really liked the looks and speed, noticeably faster than Theory, but my modded status bar zip (center clock and transparency) wouldn't work. I asked DT if he knew why, until then back to regular Theory for a another day or so.

edit2: ok, apparently I'm not restoring my backup because TWRP won't restore it  fail left and right for me this evening. :smh:

may wanna stick with pur3ao5p... burnt is full of transparancies. i like them everywhere, but the notification pulldown is the one place i really love it. i guess i can live with black... thats definaetely better than white :(

i was summoned away from the computer and my phone  bout to go play with it some more

Or you can wait for 1.5X of PUR3 and use one of dhacker's CL3AR CM7 themes from the candy store...they all have transparent pulldowns with various edge glow colors.

I am redoing my setup to more of a blue setup. I am going to use BURN because obviously it is now DT's favorite and will get the most attention.

I am actually a big tasker user, I have a profile already set up for transparent apps so I can take care of those if I need to. I don't really like transparent notification pull downs so a black one would be okay for me.

I've always used Dialer One but now I want to try out the stock phone app. How do you get it to bring up a name when you type numbers in.
The rom is rocking! I can't keep my hands off the phone.

That's a sense feature. I've never seen that as an option for an AOSP ROM. Unless DT has a different dialer than stock AOSP?

holy crap! i looked at the "time in state" in set cpu and the processor spent 96% of its time at the max(1024 in my case) while i was sleeping. this kernel may kick ass for speed and responsiveness, but it doesnt seem its gonna be great on batter life that way. i lost 5% with the screen off in about 3 hours

After reading all this, I'm very tempted to switch over from pur3. I'm a big fan of transparency, but I just got everything set up how I like it...ahh screw it, nandroiding now :P

You wont be disappointed this is a nice rom
You're not kidding. Only thing I'm missing is transparent notification bar which should come soon. I even d/l ADW EX black theme and I'm redoing some of my icons. I love this.

As an aside I'm now using interactiveX and it seems great. I can't judge yet, got to give it a couple of days.

The eclipse kernel seems to be a little harder on my battery than imo's 3.5.8 but it seems to work better with waking up the phone. Everything is smooth on this rom stock, yeah and I switched to interactive on the governor as well

I installed this and had it running perfectly. Wiped everything, system reset, etc. Interestingly, I did a backup in recovery after getting everything set up on Burnt and when the system rebooted, I got a mixture of my settings from my former ROM CM7 1.6 and Burnt. Another reboot didn't solve it, so I flashed back to CM7 for the time being which is now running perfectly. I don't know what happened or what I did but I know I wiped everything. I had no problems with Burnt and really like it until then. What could possibly cause that to happen?

I just got this up and running a little while ago and it's pretty nice. I ended up flashing the stock apps because I don't like transparency. It seems much faster and more responsive than AOSP Theory was on my phone. Not running the included kernel and from the early reviews I'm glad I'm not. I don't think it'll replace CM7 as my daily, but it's a nice addition to the stable of AOSP ROMs available.

Now, if he'd only change the name

The included kernel is running very well for me. I have some profiles in setcpu and I'm using interactiveX. After the first charge it has greatly improved. Wiping cache and dalvik needs some time to rebuild I believe.

Edit: Since it's running so well why not mess around with it? Just installed vipermod and lowered voltages by 25. Will report back when the shaking stops.

I'm not doubting it's running smoothly. I was more concerned with the speed it sleeps at. I would get 6 hours of use if I was lucky with my phone sleeping 96% of the time at 1024. No thanks. If it ain't broke, don't fix it (read: Imoseyon's LeanKernel)

I may try interactiveX...been using smartass for a while now.

I undervolt a lot more than that. If you are going to undervolt, I recommend taking the time to do custom voltages. I can crank down 254 and 368 to 750 mV, which is a lot more than 25 mV under the defaults.

What is a good way to see your sleep speed?

Ok, brought those down another 50 each. Not quite 750 but 850 and 900 respectively.
