I think it is a system app. Auto brightness works okay for me you may want to try the status bar brightness setting. It basically puts an invisible slider on the notification bar when not pulled down that tweaks brightness
 
Has anyone gotten the HULU fix to work on this? I obviously don't know what I'm doing regarding it. Trying to do the flash method since I didn't understand the other one, but can't seem to get the files to install.

Edit: got it working.
 
Ouch. Cell standby is ripping me a new one. I lost 20% of my battery. Over night. Standby ate 45% of it. Phone idle used 30%. Time without signal 0%. :(

Nevermind! Fixed!

Edit: Not fixed. Only audio plays.
 
It was while I was sleeping. About battery tells me 45% was used by cell standby. 30 was phone idle.
 
20% in 9 hours extrapolates to 45 hours on standby...I think that sounds pretty damned good. I am sure you have had better, otherwise you would not be complaining, but really, I would have no issue with that at all.

BTW, I have read many, many posts about people talking about their overnight battery discharge. When do you guys charge?
 
I did notice mine dropped about 13% while I was sleeping for about 5 hours. BAMF 1.8.6 was hardly dropping at all while I slept.
 
Shift v1.1 wasn't nearly this bad.
Btw to lose twenty % battery with screen off profiles isn't very good.
 
If you have WiFi or data on, with accounts syncing it's high, but not unheard of.

So, not only did I lose my great GPS in 1.2, but the burn ignition pack is no longer and you have to run the burn theme from theme choose to get the gray features. I make and run my own themes so I guess I'm SOL on burn.

Trying the GPS special build from DT's thread now, wish I would have made a backup before flashing 1.2. I would be back on 1.1 as I type this
 
i always cahrge overnight as well,except for the rare occasion i leave it to see how much it will drop.

my cell standby is also in the 40+%. its got no affect on battery life,somethign else is going on,methinks,for dig. the ONLY time that my cell standby is less than 40% is when voice calls are 35+% :eek:

i think you guys are thinking of the 50% bug that plauged batter life on the eris and ally. what you needed to watch for with those was time without signal,not cell standby. i check mine regularly after having both of those phones,and despite high cell standby im most always 0% time without signal.

all you gotta do is restore a different rom to get a good gps,and you could always flash the burn mod pack from 1.1(what i did) still worked fine,my 1.2 looks just like 1.1.

i could email or upload the burn mod pack if you want.

I did flash the burn pack and it's still stock. I asked DT last night if he fixed the hard to read menus and he said it should be fixed b/c burn is now a theme in theme chooser.

There is a thread on xda that has adobe flash 10.2 that will work with hulu. I just did a search and could not find it for you but I'm sure if you were on a computer you could locate it. Download the apk with your computer and move it to your phone. I just tried out Hulu and it works.

you flashed the original igintion burn pack? or the new one? i flashed the original and it changed for me. im thinking of making a backup and trying the theme chooser version... i assume that one will get the pictured lockscreen,wich looks kinda neat :)
 
That DT GPS lock ROM is the poorest excuse for a "fix" I've ever seen. Market FC's whenever you open it, you'd think he's have Maps pre installed so you could just run it and reboot. Waste of 10 minutes of my life I can never get back lol

Yea, I flashed the new one, I'm restoring burn theory 1.5 b/c it had good GPS, then I'm going to restore the backup of 1.2 I made then I'll flash the old theme burn. I'll just deal with the hard to read menus

lol ive never tried it. just restore a sense rom,or try the gps stats method. my gps is still workin fine. evey now and then i notice beautiful widgets becomes confused geolocating,so i run gps status and that seems to fix it right up.

just got done backing up igintion 1.2,gonna try the theme choser version.

No navigation for me (per usual) is my issue. Location is money, like it always is

I tried GPS status, failed
DT's "fix", failed
Just restored a backup, Navi was working, restoring new backup of 1.2, should win :)

edit: Navi now working perfectly, old ignition pack gave me my gray back. Now to pull the gray gmail out and push the stock one :)
