Root (rom) AOSP/touchwiz (sgh-t559n)

and for anybody following this thread that dosent know how to restore a nandroid remember to unzip the nandroid backup and and place the file on the root of youre phone storage or external sd card boot into the recovery (i used twrp 2.7.0.0 to make this backup) wipe youre previous rom and hit restore

If anyone needs a phils touch recovery compatible complete stock nandroid i will be more then happy to post it as well.
 
So i flashed this rom yesterday for shits and giggles and noticed that trying to enter any app from the recents button force closes the systemui.apk o_O had to flash back to my stock rom :( sucks because i really love the ink effect option for the lockscreen and i doubt i can do it to my stock rom because its still odexed. love the rom but system ui forceclosing all the time renders the rom unstable in MY opinion.:confused:

The aosp/touchwiz from from the very first posts on this forum. Where you able to download the the twrp nandroid and gets ur phone back to stock?
 
Yes it worked ! Thanks ! i had to keep it zipped for it to be able to flash with twrp 2.8.0 But thank you. Do you know how to dual boot roms ? and if you do any mods/updates for this phone i suggest starting a new thread.

Sorry haven't been updating as promised I gotten a full time job and a full time baby so you know how that goes. The recent app issue was resolved in a early update where I ported sense recent app to our phone but I forgot a file somewhere I'll look into it and give it a fix I do not have the phone anymore but I still have my files on hand. Also this ROM is based off of the stock deodex from gturn and the other guy I forgot I believe his name is in the credits you can flash the inkeffect from another post in this forum as long as its stock 4.1.2 and decode it should work but it will erase any other mods not combined with it. Also have you tried flashing the update zips ? I made them for this ROM instead of uploading a huge 600mb file I believe the latest version is 4 but it will fix it

Id like to see new updates for this rom. I like the stock touchwiz more than stock android. Do you know how to port emojis ? Like put the color emojis on stock tw instead of having the regular touchwiz jellybean emojis ?
 
As far as I know they can ether be in the framework-res or in systemui for stock emojis. I love to see new updates as well but I don't have time if you want mod my ROM and make some updates a lot of it was easy and a lot was challenging but vary fun experience learn from my guides in the forum how I figured it out. Also you can change the stock look back to touchwiz by changing a few lines of code in framework

or settings>Network settings
whatever it is.

I changed the mesage a litle big because I knew somebody would say that and I wasn't trying to, and I need the screenshot.
So I can know if I can use the ROM or not. That's why.

That doesn't make sense.. The roms are for the for the t599n and t599. If you don't have the phone you can't flash the roms. Nothing in mobile networks would tell you that...

Yes. I have the phone. I mean if it is like the Carbon ROM, which ****ed me over the day I got service, then I'm not going to use it. I'm looking for specific stuff in the network settings that's why I'm asking for the screenshot.

I mean with any cm based rom you just have to make sure you have the correct apn settings. Aside from that nothing under mobile network settings would affect your service except of course having mobile data on or off.

Well that's probably true ...

I guess it doesn't matter lol.

And the APN settings are automatic with my sim card. (When I insert my sim card its automatically added)

Well cm based roms doesn't take the apn settings from your sim card. By default those roms have their own set of apn settings so you usually have to change to yours.
 
Ipodnite00 to be honest my ROM "stock" and carbon "cm based" are not the same my ROM is stocked based touch wiz meaning it's from the actually metro PCs carrier carbon or cyanogen ROMs are based on the aosp from Google it self. There are bugs in cyanogen that would fuxk your phone over especially if not done right my ROM how ever is pretty much the same there are a few bugs but none to major as it says in the title sgh-t599n there are other variants v vs t vs what ever so if you have a sgh t599x "x being what ever is yours" then you can use them Roms for your phone if they say anything other than your model do not use or you will brick your phone

Flashing both zips should automatically do it for you or if you can try to switch the inputs at the top of the status bar. Also please remove your quote of the op I asked that you do not quote the op cause it causes problems when I have everyone doing it. Also this was a issue solved in the earlier posts
