Did you download apex straight from your browser?...if so it should be in download/

oh i see ...thats adw launcher and there should be a little box in the middle that you can press to get into your app drawer,,,,if not long press on your homescreen and select custom shortcut ,,,then i believe launchers or activities and you should see one for the app drawer then you can create and once its done just press it and drag it into the launcher doc

If I download the gingerbread keyboard zip will it install right over the stock keyboard that came with Apex.Or is the stock keyboard the gingerbread keyboard they kinda look the same.

Is there anyway to go back to the stock voice dialing service? Not too happy with the apex version. When I use it with bluetooth it always starts the volume too low and it has a hard time understanding me. The original voice dial worked great.

Installation Instructions: Please have a nandroid of your current setup in case this is not for you :)

Users coming from 1.3.0 may be safe to keep data and cache. If there are problems, then factory reset. - Uninstall updates to Market and Google Voice Search if they're there under Settings->Applications->Manage Applications first.

-Place file on your sdcard. Bootstrap recovery and reboot recovery
-Navigate to mounts and storage. FORMAT data, and cache
-Return to previous menu and install .zip from sd card
-Choose ApeX and install!

OR

-Place file on sdcard. Install ROM from sdcard in ROM manager. Wipe data and cache.

Can someone clarify. So if I have ROM Manager, I don't need to clear the data and cache through bootstrap first?

I can install through ROM manager and then wipe the data/cache and then do a factory reset?

you will have an option upon installation to wipe in either rom manager or bootstrap,,,,,rom manager essentially is bootstrap with a nicer gui to it ,,,personally i prefer bootstrap ,,,,if you have any problems using rom manager just use bootstrap

I see, thanks so much for the quick reply!

I love the new transition animations and want to keep them. However, I do agree about the white text in the battery and want the outline. Any plans for a zip that just adds the outline?

Yes. See my Updated post here:
http://androidforums.com/droid-x-all-things-root/262034-customized-goodies-zip-apex-1-3-1-a.html

You'll want link #3.

Is this how you do any updates to the rom? i.e. to install Apex_V1_3_0_Goodies1.zip or the file above?
Also, do you have to rename them to update.zip?
All I've done so I flash/install the ApeX 1.3.1 (I'll never go back to stock, btw), so I'm very much a noob.

Yes. No, you do not need to rename the file to update.zip, you can leave it as it. You can rename it if so you so desire, just remember what you named it and where on your SD card you put it when you choose to install it through bootstrap recovery.

I am having problems with my camera... i am getting black on the screen with camera and camcorder... nothing works that interacts with camera either, like barcode scanner, flashlights, etc... is the anyway to get the camera back? I tried to install the blurcamera.apk from the default-apps but that won't install. Just says "application not installed". Now I have no camera at all, no icons, like it's just completely gone.

This is the only problem I have had since upgrading to 1.3.1. No themes or anything else has been installed.

Any help is appreciated.

I have tried reboots, reinstalls, everything I can think of... I don't want too have to sbf back and then do it all over again, that's a PITA setting everything up again. :-)

i would say try installing a different rom, but do not back up the current rom since you know there is no working camera functions, see if you get a camera working on the new rom, then make a backup of that rom as a restore point in case its apex not working for you, then reinstall apex and see if it works, long process if rebooting the phone doesnt work(gmenfan83's suggestion).

make sure you wipe data and cache to make sure its all cleared out

you may have to set everything up it does happen sometimes, make a backup of your adw settings or lpp or lp or gl and restore them when you get the new rom with a working camera

the purpose of the new rom is to make sure its not your phone and if it works, its a point to revert back to incase apex isnt allowing the camera to operate
