Restoring a Nandroid back to this .591 & Apex 2 beta as I type this .. from .595 deodexed/rooted. I miss Apex too much and I think my battery life was a bit better. I'll await the OTA release and Fab's presumed future work and stick with Apex!![]()

Oops. I thought I had this figured out, only one small problem. When I try to access the "Settings", I get no where.. Nothing happens. Back in Apex 2.0 and .591. Any ideas?
Edit: Re-Restoring my Nandroid from .591 Apex 2.0 Beta just to try something. Hrmmm, Now I wonder if I should be clearing the cache. Oh well, I'll try that next.
Ok that didn't work. Still no access to "Settings" left menu - press settings = nada. Trying to re-install Apex 2.0 now via the original instructions.
Ok I'm done quoting myself now I think.Hey FAB,
Wanted to know if Apex 2.0 beta has the T-Mobile Theme Engine like CM7? Or is it possible on the Droid X?
The restoring nandroid and settings disappearing has the same root cause as not being able to flash the themed (black bg) settings in the first install.
Still trying to figure out the cause of this...just be sure you have bootstrapper installed so that after you restore, you can reinstall Apex w/o wiping data to get Settings back.

I am having a problem installing this. I do part one and it works great! I boot into Apex, install Droid 2 bootstrap and install part 2. After that, it boots up fine, but I cannot access any settings. This was mentioned earlier in the thread, but I did not see a definitive solution. The settings icon is not in the drawer, when I select settings from the menu on the home screen, nothing happens. If select the wifi settings from the notification bar, nothing happens.
Anyone have a solution? I backed up after I installed part 1. Do I even need part 2? It seems part 2 is what is causing the issue.
Thanks.
Edit: sorry I just saw some more posts about this issue I must have over looked before. Ill report back shortly.
Edit 2: After installing it part 1, then booting into it and installing part 2, then booting into and installing part 1 again, then booting into it and installing part 2 again, seems to have worked. Just had to install everything twice.
But now I have another issue. The car dock music player doesnt work. Which sucks because I use it all the time! It says "Playback problem Sorry, the song could not be played" Any thoughts?

Idk if this has been discussed. But is the CRT-off animation supposed to be in 2.0?
If not, Someone point me in a direction of getting it =]
Bump.
Anybody know a fix for the car dock music player? Any fix will do. I know I can back out of the car dock app and run the normal music player, but I would rather use the dock one.
Is the car dock app an .apk I can try to reinstall? Or maybe a flashable zip like the keyboards?
I'm in the same boat. Running Liberty GB v.05 and wanna give Apex a whirl before the OTA hits.Apologize if this has been asked but I looked through the thread and didnt see it...
If coming from Liberty GB (with updated kernel) can I flash just as I would with any other ROM or do I need to do something differently? Also, can I use the DX boostrapper or do I need the D2?
Thanks for the help and thanks to Fab for the ROM - cant wait to try it out

For some reason my phone wont go past the turn on logo, kind of getting worried here, i installed the kernel and part 1 thought i put part two on my phoen realized i had not and rebooted the phone is there anything i can do to get back to the boot loader?
**edit** Did the factory reset and still the same problem
On .595 right now. Do I need to flash the lethal update then apex 2.0 or do I need to go back to stock then follow the steps?
