Root [ROM]AplusROM_2.2

Yeah, I used to get wipe, mount, and nand backup problems with the old recovery. None of which I've experienced with the newer version not to mention the scrollable file directory. On the topic of the kernel, I'm using the latest anyrom r.O.C.K. kernel. I'm not versed in creating custom kernels but I believe this is the same one in the sense rom so if you can boot that rom then possibly it is a corrupted download.

I think my issue has something to do with the ext3 partition. I can't boot this rom or the latest sense rom with a2ext3 update. I can run the first 2 sense releases, chickeneater, and cm7 no problem.

Have you tried the repair ext partition option in recovery?

Have you tried the repair ext partition option in recovery?

I tried that in the old recovery, it worked and returned no errors. This last time I formated in gparted so the sd card was like new. Then i booted to recovery, made ext, converted to ext3, wiped all, then flashed rom. I believe that is the proper order to do things?

The new recovery also has a wipe sd option in the "other" menu.

Is there an easy way to verify ext3 partition is there and working? I can't get ext3 to work in any rom all the sudden...

You should be able to verify it's there by checking how much space you still have on the FAT partition. I'm not sure how to verify that it's working if you can't even boot the rom.

I've only used recovery to partition my sd card so I'm not sure if gparted is doing something odd to it for some reason. Have you tried partitioning with custom recovery?

Personally I would recommend using the newer recovery. I never used joniedy's as I am on 2.2 but it is based on the older recovery which did give me problems. If you're having trouble I would try flashing the latest recovery and re-downloading the rom.

Is the link I gave, for the newer recovery? It's the one I'm using.

I partition it with recovery every time, I only use gparted to restore the card to single partition.

The space is definitely missing, I tried to run Ti backup and run out of space half way thru, so I don't think my os is really using the ext3 space.

Oh, okay. Then I'm really not sure what's going on. I've never had a problem creating the partition. It was just with the old recovery it wouldn't mount correctly all the time but, that was before I used a rom with a2sd incorporated in it. What size are you setting? I've also heard that anything over 2gb doesn't always work correctly. It could be BS but I've always set mine at 1.5gb as that is usually enough for me.

You got it to boot up?

Nope I was just trying to get sense back to where it was when I started...

Sorry I can't provide more help. I'm just not really sure what's going on. You obviously had it working at some point if this all started happening from trying to clear the partition. Perhaps try to format the card while it's in the phone then re-partitioning and upgrading to ext3.

I just tried this, formatted in sense rom, partitioned and upgraded in recovery, wipe all, flash rom, and stuck at android screen still.

Omg :D You just replied to my other thread, but anyways, tried installing and it seemed to work fine but it just wouldn't start.. got stuck on android screen. Just so you have some idea of what I did.. I formatted my SD card using the phone (it was too full). Ran a full backup using Titanium. Coppied over your ROM. Rebooted. Cleared Cache/Data/yadayada. Used zip recovery. Basically standard install.. but it got stuck. Did I format my flash incorrectly?

That's the same thing that was happening to me, before I had properly wiped the sd card.
