It's been quite a while since I used BB v.4, so I am a ship-jumper. I enjoyed the ROM, but frankly, I don't see how or why Pete would stay competitive in the Droid arena.
He's obviously very talented and skilled, so why would he split his time between an EOL'd phone and newer cutting edge phones? I'd rather have guys like him out there figuring out how to root my next phone and developing great custom ROMs. After seeing ROMs like cyanogenmod, it seems like he would be wasting his time on the droid. Really, what improvements can he make on the majority of the decent ROMs? More speed? It would be barely noticable. More features? It would be hard to compete with other ROMs and what would be the point? D1 users will be dropping like flies over the next few months (although I plan to keep mine).
There aren't any major revolutions left for the droid until newer Android versions come out. Even then, the D1 is becoming more and more limited by its low RAM.
I think you're missing the point here on both counts - first, it's not about whether or not Pete *should* be developing for the D1, it's the fact that he *claims* to still be developing for the D1 yet has nothing to show for it, and second, it's not about what he can add to BB, it's the fact that, for many people, BB is the best combination of stability, speed, and features, and many of us have become loyal to that.
But I do thank you for your negativity - you make me look like the Sugarplum Fairy by comparison.
