Root [ROM]Black Plague w/ Plague Kernel

Last time I installed this rom I had horrible battery. Even on stock, not overclocked. But it ran fine. Didn't have anything disappearing.

I just installed the Pdroid patch with throttle remover, don't do that... it effed my phone up and since I hadn't backed up my current state before patching I just had to reload stock ZVA then Black Plague and do everything over again to get the Plague the way I want it... and to get clock settings to stick...

Also, even with Juice defender set on aggressive and clock settings on power save I was getting 3-4 hours maybe... I think I'm going to be looking into a Galaxy S3 when they come out in a couple months...

hey man, sorry for the hold up.. finally have a chance to get it done tonight, last few days been real crazy/stressfull.. just had to bury my brother (R.I.P.) and prior to that was working 12 hour shifts all week so boy lemme tell ya lol

but im gonna get started on those 'other' requests for ya tonite ;)

its funny you say that Mexjoker because thats exactly what i do! I still dont exactly have the perfect combo because the extreme 2.2 kernel is for zvc which wont work stably for me so I use the next best option....blitzkrieg 2.1...only I keep getting the one that either the HDMI or the wifi doesnt work but ill find the perfect combo soon enough

Ya know, at least once a week, I flash between black plague and rom 2. Ick and no ick.

This morning I tried running ld ick on the plague kernel, but my terminal was Force closing on me, and I was having some other issues.

Then I just noticed LD and PG are cooking something!

All this talk about getting ice cream sandwiches and jelly beans going on lately.... I personally think if you guys work together on something, it would be far superior to CM # anything!

I had the rebooting issue as well. But I restored the backup of the stock rom, and then did a dirty flash of BP1.2 and all seems to be working well now. I don't know if dirty flash will cause any issues down the road but i have been playing with it for about 24 hours and everything is good. It did a hard reboot when it automatically updated superuser, but that's probably normal.

BTW this is on an LG Connect.

I do have the issue though that the CPU slider in Rom Toolbox isn't sticking, but i think everyone is having that issue, and I have never been much of an overclocker anyway, simply because I never understood it very well.

wiped out:
*lg home
*lg keyboard
*file browser
*terminal emulator
*mms. apk
*and other apps that were outdated or giving force close issues

added:
*Go Launcher (runs smooth as hell even with all the screen transitions and other bells and whistles. I love this kernel, thanks PG!)
*SwiftKey 3 with blue neon theme
*android terminal emulator
*mms. Apk from ld-ick
*jrummy root explorer
*custom 3d icons
*Stocker glass locker

everything running smooth and fast

or you can over clock the s+*t outta it and keep a charger handy :)
I have a charger at work and 5 at home, and normally don't have bat issues
 
Okay, this may have already been addressed, but just in case it hasn't... or if someone needs a quick reference....

If screen shot (from press/hold power) is not working for you....
Then you can manually change the permissions of the required file to get it up and running.

Navigate to system/bin/screenshot file. Choose permission settings. Set file permission to 7777 (full access). Though you may not need full access, it should not hurt anything... as long as you don't go in there and f**k with anything :-) .
I personally use jrummy root browser to navigate through files... but you may use whicheever file browser you wish.

You should have no more bitmap/null error

damn where were u like a month ago when i needed ya lol mine wouldnt work and i gave all that stuff full 7777 permission power pg had me do that but still wouldnt work so i had to reflash the rom to get it to work but great tut bud!
 
This ROM is awesome! My question... I installed it, and absolutely loved the default wallpaper. Like an idiot, I installed a different launcher and lost the wallpaper. Is there any way to get it again?
 
I flashed Black Plague 1.2 on my LG Connect 4G and I couldn't seem to install Titanium or any app from the Google Play store without the phone resetting on me. I did not know why this was happening or what to do so I had to restore back to stock. Has anyone else experienced this? Did something go wrong during the installation?
